I noticed the other day, after the loss to Barnsley he said 'this is not what I expect from my players, when they cross the white line, they need to step up to the plate'.

It looks like he's still working from the same book of clichés.

and if he is talking about white lines, do you think he has mistaken Ash for Bullard. Or is Ash using the same white lines these days......allegedly!!

Yesterday's player ratings from the Preston 606 board:

Ashbee- WTF! do me a favour! the guy is a cross between parkin and kevin nicholls! ie overweight and useless, the guy was patently out on his feet after 30 mins and should have been subbed, as mobile as a static caravan! 4/10

Only one fan questioned this rating, he said it was too high and awarded him 3/10.

I hope he gets the welcome he deserves on Saturday, then goes on to play really badly. :emoticon-0105-wink:

Queue the pathetic character assassination of players who leave the Club. Shameful treatment for such a Hull City LEGEND.

He was also talking about 'Putting bodies on the line' in that interview. Some thing's never change. <laugh>

It's certainly not character assassination Strovolos, I know Ash and don't in anyway want to diminish from his achievements with us, I just thought it was interesting to see how things were going for him in Preston, particularly as they're our next opponents.

The "Royal WE" is bound to come into play with probably a mention on the side of his "Latest Single" and his party trick of Walking on Water.

I didn't mean you, hence 'cue'.

You only have to look at the other thread on Phil Brown to see how fickle and feckless our football fans are. These are the people who walk out after 80 minutes when we are losing or not playing well, or go for their pint 10 minutes before half time. Not what I call fans.

People can talk about who did what, who was resposible for what, who was reported as saying BLAH, BLAH, BLAH when things went wrong. The TRUTH is Phil Brown and Ian Ashbee were responsible for getting us to the Premiership for the first time in our history, something I was privileged to witness and something a lot of PROPER fans I knew never lived to see. They deserve better than the disrespect some of the scum that support HCFC have to give. These are the same people that were singing his name at Wembley and at the KC after the United game. If anyone round me Boos either of them next weekend they'll get ShutTheFuckUp from me.

Fair enough, though I expect both to get a very good reception on Saturday. It might not last long, but I think that a great deal of appreciation will be shown initially.

It will probably last all the way to Ash's first tackle..............

If Ash clatters any of our players I will treat him the same way as I would any other player that has ever clattered any of our players. That's all part of the game. I'm talking about those who will Boo him or Brownie for anything other than what happens during the game.

unless its harper then i admit, i will have a little smile to myself <whistle>

Tbh they will both get a good reception from us, however we will all treat Ash and Browny the same way. But i do hope they stay up and if they do go down i hope Brown gets a chance to take them back up. I don't see why any Hull fan would wish something bad on Brown and Horton they took us up there they made mistakes but we have to accept it, they didn't mean to make them but hey i hope they stay up but i still want us to hammer then!
