All 9, about the same number of goals as Hemed I think, who missed a sizeable chunk of the same period with a hernea operation.

I think Wells has a decent technical ability and work rate and spent a lot of last season a bit isolated. He could come good if we get numbers forward.

I am a bit disappointed that our recruitment policy hasn't unearthed a single striker to add permanently to the ranks. This will be 2 years where our front line isn't ours.

I'd be happier if we had an option on Wells (I highly doubt we'd have one on Hugill or the young Slovenian).

I am very happy with the recruits in the other areas of the pitch but we will have a problem up front next Summer that we, once again, need to solve.

Wells has a decent track record, pleased he is back. Somewhere between the highs of Loic Remy and the despair of Pellicori (decent barnet though) rests the likes of Wells, and that's no bad thing

I think Warburton can get more out of him this season

There's a class striker in there somewhere looking for guidance

I think that's a bit harsh on Luongo. I'd offer a more balanced assessment....

Underachiever, maybe: I always thought that he was a good player but thought he could do more. We certainly seemed to miss him when he was out of the side and looked a better team when he was back in it. He could certainly tackle but he rarely beat a man and scored too few goals. Also, I cannot recall any defence splitting passes but he was a worker and generally closed down the opposition well. I wanted him to influence the game more than he appeared to do. In my opinion, he is yet another good player in a long list who didn't develop under our coaches. I'm a bit sorry to see him go but I think we've had our time together and it was time for him to move on.

Great summary Rodders <applause>

So we’ve spent a grand total of £50k and brought in 14 new players (give or take?)

And still brought in somewhere probably around £7 mil from sales.

On the evidence of the Stoke game, I’m more than ok with this, especially if it clears us of any further FFP action.

The list of in’s and out’s is impressive in its audacity!

We have totally re-engineered our team and banked about 7 mill in the process, not to mention reduced the wage bill. :)

If you add to this that we may also play a more fluid, dynamic and entertaining style of football, then what what is not to like. :)

All we can do is watch, support and wish them every success. :)

I just wish and hope that this is a “long term” project and not something we will “dump” should a few bad results come our way.

Let’s enjoy the show, but let’s be patient! COYR’s!!!

You'd rather have had him back instead? What craziness is this? At least three of Hemed's were pens.
Stats back up what I said. Hemed scored 7 from 27 in the Championship for us with a hernea op in the middle of his spell with us, while Wells scored 7 from 40 in the same period. Yes Hemed scored penalties, Wells did not. Hemed played as our 1 striker in their box, Wells was usually supposed to do the same, but wandered everywhere in their half and rarely got in their box, and often got in the way of Freeman, Eze, and BOS who were supposed to be doing that. He rarely latched onto crosses or anything loose in their box. I agree Wells is better on the ball, but Hemed the choice of these 2 for me if you want a striker, particularly if you only play 1. I didn't particularly want Hemed back, certainly not Wells, it says something about our scouting of strikers that 2 seasons running now we are having to make late loans of strikers whose recent form had not been great.

Well, I think there must be decent strikers playing lower league football in the UK or in Europe and scoring goals, available for the £3 million + we supposedly offered for Aberdeen's central defender McKenna. That is if we'd looked hard enough.
