The two most important things for us to do was strengthen the defence and get rid of Lukaku and Sanchez. We’ve done most of that, but obviously we need to add more depth in CM and probably get a new CF in. It’s a great chance for Greenwood to prove himself now though and I’ve got faith that he’s the real deal. We’ll need a lot of luck with injuries to make top 4.
Rodgers must rate Benkovic, then. Four centre-halves is enough numerically speaking, but I guess time will tell if they're up to it.
I'm happy enough, can strengthen in January if need be. We can also try to actually use Sanchez here and there!
These past few days have made me wonder if Lukaku was one of the main bad eggs that made things go wrong last season after Ole’s good run. We looked at our best when he was on the bench, then he come back in to the team and we went to ****. Give Martial the 9 shirt back and off we go.
You're probably right tbf. I just expected a serious summer from you guys after last season. Signing 2 kids and Maguire is poor, imo. My opinion means my opinion, not fact before you throw your toys out the pram x
Btw what does loan signing with option to buy mean on lo celso. Is it one of those you have to buy likes ings or can you sack him off if he's ****?
We're ****ing over PSG, basically. They had a 20% sell-on clause for any fee higher than that paid by Betis for him. We're signing him on loan for a season with an obligation to buy him next summer and sticking £15m as a loan fee and £40m as the transfer. Saves the Spanish side a few quid.
It’s a neat trick for screwing PSG. We pay like £15 mill for the loan and around £40 mill for the purchase. PSG are only entitled to 20% of the sale, so Betis saves £3mill right there. Plus we have funds reserved for other purposes.
That pisses me off. Why didn’t he go on strike and for a move for peanuts, or even nothing? Does he not know how these things are done at Arsenal!
I'm ****ing pissing my pants laughing here. £40m for Iwobi We've played a ****ing blinder in this transfer window.
Everton's new owner must be as loaded as they are clueless about the worth of a player 40 ****ing million
Like us it could prove to be a great signing or a flop...Luiz could go either was and you have 2 they might take time to adjust to the league. Same with us...Sessegnon looked rattled last season our other two will need time to adjust. The knes who surprised me are United and Liverpool...particularly pool...thought they'd both go big in the window.
Mental innit. Hopefully we can now use that £40m to put towards another CB in Jan, possibly Upamecano or Umtiti. Still can't believe we've managed to rinse Everton for £40m for Iwobi
