Just to confirm, the transfer window for L1, L2 and Scotland closes on 2nd Sept, so while we won't be able to sign players, we could still get some off our books, though the ones we want shot of would probably be too expensive. Part funded loans maybe? Damour talking to Hearts could conclude after today.
Or just free transfers to get them off the books?Leave them to negotiate their own wages. The problem will be the lazy sods unable to get a game, sitting on their arses and taking their wages until their contracts run off.
Gory Deal back on? Reports of a €2.5M fee agreed. Reports emanating from France have suggested that a deal for Alimani Gory is back on the table. The 22-year-old, who can play up front as well as on the left wing, has reportedly agreed to move to the Welsh capital with Cardiff and Le Havre agreeing a €2.5m fee. Both Get French Football and L’Equipe report that a move is likely to happen despite competition from an unknown Belgian club.
Sankhare deal off?.............. https://www.hitc.com/en-gb/2019/08/...ardiff-and-nottingham-forest-didnt-sign-youn/
Ah well. If his attitude is not good as the report says then it is the best thing for all. Hope we have some other rabbits in the hat and were not just relying on that one. If not then the scene is set for Damour and Tomlin to stay. Madine can still foxtrot oscar any time now. Taxi..........
Cunningham on his way?................... https://www.footballinsider247.com/...s-to-sign-cardiff-city-28y-o-intl-deal-close/
Would rather it be permanent. All for loaning players out, but not those we've spent millions on. Cuts the wage bill i suppose.
Not sure what the "recall" rules are these days, but a loan with an instant recall could be OK - if Bennett gets crocked we're arsed for another left back. We've tried Peltier across there and it don't work. Need to keep our options open.
The nail hit firmly on the head. It's been in my mind for a while that the reason we don't get a lot from the recognised strikers is because of the service into them. In the case of Reid, he needs service from players who think as quickly as he does. Difficult to be overly critical of NW because of what he's achieved, but I think even the championship has stepped up a gear and that we will be too predictable. I'd be sorry to see Reid go, but as you say, if we can't play differently there's not a lot of point in him staying. It does beg the question why he was brought here in the first place. Anyway, perhaps in the next 8 hours we'll buy a string of pacy midfielders who like to play on the deck and can feed our strikers.
Pigs fed and ready to fly....... Looking ahead, my concern is who our next manager is. If we get rid of players who can play a bit, we'll either end up with a manager in Neil's image (though likely less effective) or a more expanssive manager who will need ANOTHER rebuild.
According to the BBC, Fulham are apparently interested in Reid as well Don’t think we should be letting him go there!
It would be disastrous if Reid went and we didn't have a good enough replacement already in line. I can't see anyone better than him coming in to be honest. Although I'd prefer him to go to Fulham over Bristol .. No one ever wants our players and now every bastard wants them .. Shambles.
Depends who's coming in and who's going out. We really do need some incoming quality and enthusiasm. If not it will be a long season and a new manager will be needed next January.
