Yes the window hasn't shut but lets make some Saints predictions about the season before it kicks off on Saturday. We can then all come back in a seasons time and laugh at how bad our predictions have been/look in awe at mine and how right they were.

Saints finishing position? - 16th

League Cup Round? - 5th

FA Cup Round? - 4th

Breakthrough player? (can be a younger player or a player not really in the first team a lot last year) - Slattery

Biggest surprise? (can be anything Saints related) - Hoedt will be regarded as our best centre back and attracting interest next summer from bigger clubs. People will meltdown if/when he leaves


Feel free to add any you like, was going to do signing of the season but seemed pretty pointless with only 2 to pick from.

FA Cup Round? - 6th.

Breakthrough player? (can be a younger player or a player not really in the first team a lot last year) - Boufal. [yeah, sneaky one]

Biggest surprise? (can be anything Saints related) - Saints themselves [hence 8th] or Lemina. He'll end up being brilliant for whoever he plays for.

League Cup Round? - 4th

FA Cup Round? - 4th

Breakthrough player? (can be a younger player or a player not really in the first team a lot last year) - Shane Long. (Player of the season winning 15 penalties. Up the VAR)

Biggest surprise? (can be anything Saints related) - Ralph is still here for pre season 2020-21

League Cup Round? - Final

FA Cup Round? - Quarters

Breakthrough player? (can be a younger player or a player not really in the first team a lot last year) - Adams

Biggest surprise? (can be anything Saints related) - Saints playing like Brazil, winning most games 4-3 or losing them 5-0. VAR is the best thing to happen to Football.

FA Cup Round? - 5th

Breakthrough player? (can be a younger player or a player not really in the first team a lot last year) - JWP (this year will be his year)

Biggest surprise? (can be anything Saints related) - I manage to watch a televised Saints' game for more than 15 mins.

Biggest surprise: I meet Jonny shuttle and he’s wearing a three piece suit, dickie bow and he turns out to be my local member for the House of Lords.

15th, quarter finals in the League cup, 3rd round FA Cup. A couple of the nippers will break through to the first team. We'd come higher in the league if we'd bought a decent CB.
