Liverpool look set to rival Man United in the race to sign Spurs and Colombia centre-back Davinson Sanchez this summer.

I suppose we need a replacement fourth choice CB if Lovren leaves...

I think Lovren is likely to be on his way to Roma.

If they want to massively overpay for players its completely up to them, I can see the Sanchez deal worked out well for them.

I just dont see the attraction with maguire , hes a cart horse nothing more. Hed be a top class cb 20 years ago when their main job was to be solid and head the ball away, but the quick passing and mobility of a good European side will put him on his arse.

That may be so, time will tell, but for now we are aiming to improve our position in the PL against domestic opposition :emoticon-0105-wink:

Everyone tried to take credit for the points that cost us and i will always blame Maguire
This makes perfect sense to me.
When he gets beaten for speed he just takes them down, stays on the pitch and scores equaliser
Yes i am still sore about that lol :)

I think with the options you currently have he is a great buy.
As you get back into CL (not a wum) you may well be looking at the Verane s etc but atm he is solid and will be very good if de gea gets his form back, which i am certain he will.
As for the 80mil its all relative, its either a business ploy, nowt wrong with that or you are currently having to pay that no CL premium.

A lot depends on who plays along side him. Lindelof is the first choice because Bailly is made of crystal and has never managed more than 4 games without a long term injury. After that we have Tuanzebe who is looking like he will be the player we originally thought, Smalling who could cover for Maguires lack of real pace, then it's just Roco (red card and injury) or Jones who will put his body and life to the cause but is just not very good.

Its weird i thought that wan bas would be able to catch those that maguire cant :) yeah will totally depend on his partner but i think he is a definite improvement on what you have, tbh how vvd was for us.
Think Europa is well within grasp this season, plus domestic cup and I think top four/five for your boys

From what I have seen of AWB he has the speed to cover for Maguire (and the rest of the team <laugh>) but I expect him to spend a lot of time further up the pitch. Harry needs good fast cover in the middle with him when we are on the front foot.

    Think Ferdinand/Vidic or Pallister/Bruce.
