Interesting weekend to measure Ferrari and Red Bull progress.

Red Bull have looked transformed since Austria- Verstappen looking very comfortable in the car and the car looking excellent through the twisty sectors of Silverstone.

Ferrari were way closer at Silverstone than I expected and Vettel has been making positive noises about them understanding the car.

Hungary with its low speed corners would have been a nailed on Mercedes demolition a couple of months ago- if it’s a close fight then we know Red Bull and Ferrari are on the up.

In the midfield, McLaren think this is their weakest circuit due to their low speed corner performance, so perhaps this will be a circuit where Renault show up well after a disappointing weekend for them in Germany.

weather says rain for qualy & sunny for race.
prefer it the other way around personally, but some rain is better than none.

according to the F1 website there's a 0% possibility of rain during Friday practice.

never say 0%, its asking for it.

Bottas ended the second session fourth quickest, 0.189secs slower than Hamilton but running the 'medium' tyre while the Briton was on the slower 'hard'.

wow, Max made up over .5 in S3.

CLC into the wall. I'm starting to wonder if the mistakes are down to the car, rather than the drivers.

**** me Russell! Looks like Williams have figured something out, not quite Q2, but so close, and he absolutely destroyed Kubica.

About time for Max. 6th highest number of races before the first pole. Great Lap. If we wins this, is it too late to think about a title challenge?

Terrible for Ferrari, but Leclerc now 6-6 with Vettel. Impressive to outqualify him after that shunt. Didn't seem to knock his confidence.

weirdly in the 2 races he's won this season, he's fluffed the start in both
