I don’t know whether it’s my advancing age or if I’m going senile or whatever, but I can’t for the life of me remember being so excited and confident about a new season. I’m generally pessimistic about our chances as each season starts but this time round I think it’s our year. I reckon Colin will be going out with a bang.

Now Glatzel has signed, anyone else think likewise?

I’m off to Wigan on Saturday and I can’t wait!

Here’s Benjamin’s predictions. I listened to his blogs in our promotion season; a good listen. He’s an Ipswich fan but seems to have taken the championship to his heart!

Spot on there Scull <ok>

The signings (that's just so far <yikes>) have been far more orientated to the division we're in and the style we play than the efforts last season in the Prem.

Don't want to be greedy but still think we need a playmaker and not rely on Tomlin coming good. That would be the icing on the cake for me.

I have age related mind problems as well scully. Often my mind telling me to do things my 18 year old self would have done, closely followed by my 55 year old body confirming that i cant.

I am quietly optomistic about our season. Would like a few moved on to remove the distraction of us still having them.

We oftem speak about the squad for the rigours of a championship season, and i think we're close. Over stocked in the keeper department, 4 good CBs and currently cover at full back.
Ralls and vaulks in front of the back 4 with baccuna and damour as back up. NML and murphy out wide with hoilett and whyte to fall back on / bring off the bench. Bob the new boy up front with bogle as cover.
Then the question mark. Reid off the striker, but who else?

I suppose it depends on the formation.
Colins preferred 433, the end of season 4231 (my favourite), 451 or 442. I think we have the players now (probably with the exception of a playmaker in the middle of a 433) to play most of those formations, or even to change formation during a game.

Ralls and vaulks in front of the back 4 with murphy, reid and NML in front of that and bob up front looks pretty solid.

Bring it on.

Leeds & Fulham seem to be a lot of pundits choices as top 2.

City seem to be in most pundits top 6.

Stoke surely will be up there with WBA.
