So still some experiments, that's not the team for Liverpool. -Fahrmann in goal with his big opportunity to impress. Suspect Krul will get the final friendly. -Godfrey+Klose at CB is interesting. Presumably playing 90 as Hanley isn't even in the squad. Hopefully that's not another injury. -Leitner+Trybull partnership is expected for Liverpool, so interesting to see how that works. -Pukki and Buendia back fit, Vrancic fit for the bench.
Had a VERY tasty Sirloin and chips with a pint of Legacy - £8.80. Yes, the new strip looks very good, but waiting till Saturday to decide.. Just seen the team - AWESOME!!
Norwich City: Fahrmann; Byram, Godfrey, Klose, Lewis; Trybull, Leitner; Buendia, Cantwell, Hernandez; Pukki. Subs: Krul, Aarons, Roberts, Vrancic, Heise, Stiepermann, Drmic, McLean, Srbeny, Idah. Great to see Mario on the bench and Idah included again. Suspect that there will be a number of subs on at 60 minutes to avoid hamstring and other injuries and get more game time for those on the bench. Looking forward to it.
Dreadful from Klose. No look pass to your own penalty spot? As the commentary on the stream pointed out, hopefully that's a pre-season pass.
I think I heard the commentator say NCFC are further along than Ata in preparation, but this is Ata's 4th pre-season game if you count something called the "Trofeo Fra.mar". We are looking good (except for TK's crazy pass).
Very interesting game. We're playing well, Ata have obvious quality. Now, down 1-2, we are able to bring in Drmic, McLean, and Roberts. And Srbeny,
Friendly or not, we have looked at sea when defending counter attacks tonight... Mane Salah and Firmino must be licking their lips! Although, our strongest 11 has yet to play together so, thats something to consider I guess?
Disappointing in the end, but pleased to see a lot of positives as well. Cantwell was very lively in the first half and confirmed my belief that his best position is behind the striker. Hernandez was dangerous on the left with both pace and dribbling and also got back to defend well. Godfrey also impressed with his pace and marking. Pukki and Buendia showed good movement and interplay, but looked rusty when it came to the final ball or scoring chances. Lewis looked good on both sides of the ball and Klose was composed except for the mistake which looked very pre-season - can't see him doing that at Anfield. Trybull and Leitner did ok, but I feel even more that we need another DM with the injuries to Tettey and Thompson. I thought we lost our shape after the substitutions and Atalanta took advantage on the counter.
I thought Emi's timing looked off. I give credit to Ata, they looked like a smart team. I'm not concerned about this game. Farke still looking at players and positions; I did see him shake his head a couple times after the game as though he was surprised by what just happened.
At 1:2 we lost discipline and patience. The key last season was not allowing falling behind to disturb our pattern of play; it was a case of mixture as before and ramp it up as the final whistle got closer. Neither was in evidence this evening, due mainly to the need to get competitive minutes under the belts of as many players as possible, and being short of full match fitness (which few if any teams have at the start of a season).
