Aubameyang was a Mislintat signing. He worked at Dortmund and was able to bring Aubameyang in. Would have liked to have seen Mislintat stay at Arsenal, but with Sanllehi coming in Arsenal changed their approach to transfers, relying more on contacts with agents and Sanllehi's networking rather than the data analysis approach that Mislintat was employing.
So you now have someone who relies on "preferred contacts/agents" rather than trying to get the best/better players?
We now have somebody who relies on contacts and networks with players and agents rather than data and metrics. Choosing a transfer target is always going to be a combination of the two, but in Sanllehi we've got somebody who knows the ins and outs of the transfer market and knows how to drive a deal. He's a lot like David Dein was for us back in the early Wenger years.
We were reportedly interested in three of those four, Klopp thought better of it all three times. You're welcome I guess
