Tony Cascarino expects Liverpool to make two signings before the window shuts https://www.hitc.com/en-gb/2019/07/...ts-liverpool-to-make-two-signings-before-the/
Now I've had a bit of a moan about Origi, nothing has changed there but I don't get the line "genuine concern"? We have a very good squad with some younger players that look like they are ready to step up. We're never going to compete with City in the transfer market we're going to challenge by being a team and improving what we have through tactics and coaching.
For me it’s concern that it’s an opportunity missed if we don’t sign when from a position of strength. In fact it would be a mistake imo. Nothing more sinister than that. That said, I still think we’ll sign a couple more.....at least one anyway
Feck it I’m always worried Some of the stories coming out are concerning Iike the argument between Vvd on Sunday and Klopp that took place after one of the goals And the quotes afterwards weren’t belting Youngsters currently looking better than the seniors and the front three have not had a preseason City will be able to rest their players due to squad depth I think we will have to prioritise - Tbf not so much else to talk about
I get that. I'm concerned that Klopp thinks Origi is good enough but also think that Brewster is so I expect Brewster to get ahead of Origi and be good cover for the front 3.
Brewster could be a worldie but the gulf between the front 3 and the backs up is huge IMO. Our front 3 have pretty much played 2 years of consistent football (incl summers). Keeping them fit is one thing but to keep them fresh is another. A 4th top quality attacker would have massively helped
I agree, I was really hoping we would be in for Werner as he ticks all the boxes for me, age, price, versatile, pace. I've watched pretty much all the pre season games and the cover up top does concern me Origi is not my fav player and if one of our front 3 picked up a lengthy injury it would be a concern but then again I really think Brewster will get ahead of him and provide the cover we need. Outside of those 2 nobody has really impressed me.
Our main problem is if Salah or Mane get injured we have nothing similar in reserve. If Bobby gets injured we can make do not great options but can stumble through. The Werner situation is very strange in last year of contract wont sign a new deal at the moment us and Bayern heavily linked couple of months ago but since then it has gone very quiet even no papers are mentioning it. Which seems strange as we said we weren't in for Pepe but papers kept publishing the story we still were trying.
We had all the same worries last year. Klopp has shown he can do this **** with good coaching and team ethic. I'm looking forward to the season and the class of 2020 breaking through
