No doubt you will all have seen the shabby actions of Lampitt during their fans forum. One guy was quickly brushed aside when he had the nerve to ask when the local creditors were going to get the money they were promised when they went bust. Ducking & weaving, but no straight answers. Things don.t change down there do they. I think the ever decreasing band who call themselves fans should be feeling slightly embarassed & ashamed.
Well saints alive it would appear that you are the joker. The company that owned PFC (Portpin) before CSI took over is responsible for those particular debts. Wise up
When you said jokers down the road, I wasn't sure whether you were referring to Pompey, Bumtown or Bumbluff! Always enjoyed our rivalry with Pompey. But now I've got fresh dislike for Brighton and Bournemouth - both have big mouth fans and the former, an exceptionally annoying manager.
Pompey fans might be embarassed by the behaviour of their owners (past and present) but they needn't be ashamed. Sadly, fans have no control over such things and can't be held responsible.
Listened to it and tbf to Lampitt, he answered all the questions thrown at him, even if he had to admit that a particular issue hadn't been sorted yet.
Dodgy people always have a way of dodging their moral responsibilities - you would think that for the good name of the club they would pay these people what is, after all, a reasonably small sum. But when did principals count for anything at Portsmouth
Sometimes I feel sorry for people in Portsmouth having that club, but things like that just don't happen, ulitimately you get the club you deserve ...However Don Cortese has admitted rather magnanimously he includes PFC in his prayers, a better man than myself
The Current regime have no responsibility for the non payments, it was the rotten lot that took Pompey down the drain in the first place, who promised to cough up, but as always, promises meant nothing. Even if you hate skate, get your facts right before slinging the mud.
Having said that, I suppose you could ask that why, when Saints were taken over, so were their debts, which were paid off, just a subtle difference, but anything goes in business it would seem.
Absolutely correct Saintdon13 - every single debt was paid off following the Saints takeover - and the Liebherr camp were not obligated to do that. I suppose that tells us all we need to know about the principles of the two clubs. One club, honourable, the other a bunch of shisters. And of course you are right - football followers get the club they deserve.
Have to say that, at times, I wondered what Saints fans had done to deserve the pantomime that appeared to be going on in front of us, with the empty power struggle that was Lowe, Wilde and Co. I don't include Crouch in that, as I believe he always had the best intentions. His own mistake was that he simply didn't have enough clout. And almost* all of us can be accused of that. *just in case we have the odd billionaire on this forum.
Just for the benefit of the non-billionaires here, an off-topic money saving tip. I was in M&S yesterday at about 9.00PM and it seems that is the time when they come out with the "to clear" stickers. I picked up a duck and hoisin wrap for 50p. Jen and Fran in particular might be interested in the chocolate deserts for 10p! Returning to the football, of course you don't get the club you deserve! Saints nearly went bust but fortunately had the infrastructure in place to make it a good investment opportunity. The Pompey fans didn't deserve to lose their club. They almost did, but that was due to the incompetent running of their club and beyond their control. The only thing they can control are the attendances, but I think we have done that to death.
I was on joking about having 'the club you deserve', to play up our current league and moral (debt )superiority...Afterall we are Saints and they're the panto villains. Certainly Skates are great value as rivals, they've been reduced to 99p...but you'll have to stick em in your freezer as most folk aren't normally up for late night fish action ps. Fran, Tesco also reduces stuff at 7.00...9.00 is ultra bargain time though
