Magic! I've not been to Düsseldorf but I've been to Hertha and their fans were a good laugh too. Megaphones and flags and stuff in the ground and friendly and lager-fuelled before and after the game!
Went Hamburg a few years back and it was immense, would have went to Dortmund but it’s a **** on with flights from North East.
Nice! Would love to do Dortmund but never got round to it. Hamburg is good cos if you time it right you can do HSV and St Pauli in one weekend.
Sunderland AFC transfer news LIVE: George Dobson signing confirmed Sunderland have bolstered their striking department with the loan capture of Marc McNulty - and Jack Ross is looking to add more signings to his squad.
https://t.co/J67C28iKU1 Sunderland AFC are delighted to announce the signing of George Dobson. The midfielder has penned a three-year deal at the Stadium of Light, arriving from League Two outfit Walsall for an undisclosed fee. Dobson started his career at Arsenal, spending a decade with the Gunners before moving to his boyhood club, West Ham United, in 2015. The 21-year-old enjoyed time on loan with the Saddlers during the 2016-17 season, before moving to the Banks’s Stadium on a permanent basis in January 2018 following a six-month spell in the Eredivisie with Sparta Rotterdam. After returning to Walsall, Dobson made a further 65 appearances in all competitions for Dean Keates’ side, while also regularly captaining the club during the 2018-19 campaign. Following his move to Wearside, Dobson said: “It’s been a long few weeks, so to finally get the deal done is a dream come true. I played in the same league last year, but the difference in facilities is frightening, so the opportunity to use them every day to improve my game is something I’m really looking forward to. I always play with pride and passion, and I can’t wait to get started.” Jack Ross concluded: “George has been on our radar for a while, so I’m delighted we were able to finalise a deal and bring him to the football club. He’s still young, but he is an experienced player with over 100 senior games under his belt, and throughout his career he has demonstrated quality, maturity and leadership. I’m confident he will thrive under the pressure that comes with playing for Sunderland and become an even better player in the process.”
I like how he's young but has bags of experience and won't be like a headless chicken for half the season. I know we could field an entire team of CMs but the fact remains that it's unclear who should be first choice, I'm thinking Dobson will be one of them hence we signed him for an area we have more than enough players for.
Aye it looks good mate, let’s be honest anywhere Dutch or German is usually good craic ain’t it. Wanted to go Frankfurt but couldn’t be arsed to drive to Liverpool for a flight for a short trek.
He must be building the team around 4 core players: Big Jon; Willis; Dobson; McGeady Fill in the gaps...
Frankfurt is pretty boring, and bloody expensive for hotels. Defo better off in the Rhine-Ruhr for a weekender
Yeah really looking forward to it, shame wasn’t a couple weeks later they playing Schalke but Hertha still a canny one I reckon. I’ve never had a bad time in Germany, never once.
I’ve played a football tournament once a year for a few year now for McLaughins Irish bar in Duss great crack, drinking before during and after haha and into the town after absolutely great crack and the Germans love it mate.
Also if you fancie Holland can put you on to the feyenoord Mackems! You will not have an experience like it imo
Been Rotterdam a few times mate, one of my best pals is a Feyenoord lad from when I lived in Spain, it’s a mental place. We went last year they had a cup game against some 9th division team or some **** away at a ground like a park and they were still bouncing around like madmen! Was class.
