Controversial perhaps but I think 'You'll never walk alone' is the best 'football' song....and even Liverpool have to share that with Celtic.
There was one chant I heard at Shrewsbury away last season which I can't remember exactly how it goes, but it had a very particular clapping pattern. I couldn't make out the lyrics as the main singers of the chant were on the other side of the stand but it was something about "Follow you" and then five quick claps then something that sounded like "Follow me" followed by five quick claps, then something else equally as short followed by five claps, then something else then five claps... Then there would be like a constant rhythmic clapping while chanting something (it might have just been a 'ooohhhh' or something, I honestly can't remember) . It was quite good, lasted a while and I'd never heard any chant like that before or since.
Saints aren't the only ones who can claim Oh When The Saints Go Marching In as the club song. St Johnstone and St Mirren could both claim it too. And, in the USA, so could New Orleans Saints. The song is a traditional gospel song after all. You'll Never Walk Alone is a song from Rodgers and Hammerstein's musical carousel - so any football crowd could sing that too. Liverpool FC have no extra claim to it of any kind. It was just re-popularised by Gerry and the Pacemakers, from Liverpool. Nothing else. Perhaps we shouldn't be so respectful, seeing as nobody else is.
I guess Southampton FC are just most closely associated with Oh When The Saints Go Marching In. But the times, they are a-changing.

While Southampton are my football association with Oh When the Saints Go Marching In, I suspect there's people out there who'd associate it more strongly with Spurs - primarily because they're more likely to watch games involving top 7 sides than ones involving Southampton!
Also depends on your geographical area - I live in St Helens. I've known Oh When the Saints Go Marching In since I was a kid, it's often sung around town, because it's also the song for our rugby league team (who are predominantly referred to as Saints, even by other teams, and pretty much never referred to as St Helens). Many people will associate things with where they've heard it first.
(As a matter of fact, it was a confusion of a headline about 'Saints' in a newspaper that originally made me interested in looking at Southampton, where I'd previously had little interest in football - I'd assumed, from the headline, it would be talking about the rugby team!).

We nicked "when I was just a little boy" from them, a Leeds fan that we drank with used to sing it every weekend in the pubs around the city centre back in the 80s but his version had "shoot the Chelsea scum".

Speaking of current songs that were sung by other fans back in the 80s, Sunderland's "Got a Dream" was sung by the lads from the Painted Wagon pub (Saints main crew) back then on away days. Can remember walking along the road singing it myself with them on many occasions...

Why do you think that’s controversial? Always associated with them and only them.
Controversial that I like it? Everyone seems to hate Leeds so I'm assuming that extends to the song for a lot of people.

No problem for me. I don’t like Leeds, but respect a good singing team, hence my comments on united away fans and Bestie’s song. Quality songs, great noise, but twats.
