Tom Eaves has confirmed he is leaving Gillingham, rumour he is going to a Championship club, don't know anymore than that yet, sad to see him go, really hoped we would hold on to him. I saw on twitter you lads might have gone in for him, any truth in this?
I wish him all the best wherever he goes, but would be pretty decent to know he's gone to you guys. Top striker well loved at Gillingham and will be sadly missed. He's an all round good player, wherever he is called up on. Whether he will get such a free role at another club is to be seen, and how that will affect his goal scoring ability. Which is my only concern, in League One he can have quite a free role to do what he wants, don't think that is going to be so much allowed in the Championship, certainly no Bradley Dack in that sense, but he certainly scores at ease.
I can see us completing this one if true. League 1 striker, got 20+ goals last season, should be within our budget, also seems to fit the bill for McCann, I think he prefers a target man for the lone striker role? He's 6ft 5... Looks a bit like a lower league Andy Carroll? Only concern for me is other than at Gillingham, his scoring record has been poor.
A Grosicki mystery (HDM) McCann admitted that Kamil Grosicki is not likely to feature later this week and didn’t state whether it was or was not injury related. He has been in reported links with a move to Nottingham Forest and Turkey recently, and unlike captain Markus Henriksen who spectated Tuesday’s 2-2 draw, the same couldn’t be said for Grosicki. The Polish winger was given an extended summer break like Henriksen after representing their countries last month, but he was set to be a part of Friday’s second friendly. Dicko also wore the number 14 shirt which was Grosicki’s last season, so either he has swapped with Grosicki, or a new number nine is on their way and Grosicki may be heading out of the KCOM Stadium.
Others will still find a reason to pull him to bits and write him of as not good enough before he's even kicked a ball
