Sorry that is just simply inaccurate, wages are determined by supply and demand in a capitalist system, if the company is struggling to sell it's goods/services because it is trading in an inadvantagous scenario it will not raise anyone's wages, it will be laying workers off!

So you are saying I’m wrong in my assumption that an influx of foreign workers, willing to work for a lesser wage, brings down the wage structure for local workers ??

No I'm saying that a major economic downturn of a Country affects most people, especially the poorest and those most vulnerable. Three years ago we were promised that we would thrive when we left, now it's we will face economic problems but it will be worth it down the line. Are you really and honestly sure it will? I have children and grandchildren and I'm sorry what sort of mess we are leaving them!

There have been upteen predictions of doom and gloom since we voted to leave.
Many, like the head of the bank of England said our economy would crash and burn immediately after the vote.
He has back tracked now, as have many others, as the economy became stronger.

Maybe the doom mongers are wrong again eh?

Ok, I'm no supporter of Brexit - it will have a detrimental impact on where I live, and probably lead to Indy Ref 2...which could go either way this time. However, in my industry (telecoms) we were flooded with Romanians and Lithuainians about 6 years ago, and the work plummetted for British engineers as the money rapidly decreased. The work gangs live in their vans, eight to a two bed house and work seven days a week for peanuts. It's only in the last year that these guys are now headed elsewhere that wages have gone back to levels that they were when they arrived - thank ****! Not sure it's all down to Brexit, but it's definately a factor.

The important thing is that if it doesn’t go well it’s definitely the fault of everyone who said it wasn’t going to go well and NOT Brexiteers parroting long debunked myths and nice but empty slogans.

Just believe and all will be well. Economy, trade, the irish backstop etc etc all become totally irrelevant when you just believe

He’s already won. There’s absolutely no point to this.

Switch over to ITV2 I reckon.

Oh, I get it, you are channeling Anne Widdecombe. Come on, we are like slaves escaping those people who captured us and transported us to America, aren’t we? Or the Jews leaving Babylon after centuries of captivity? Or perhaps the English suffering under the yoke of the EU is best compared to the end of apartheid in South Africa.

I don’t struggle to understand independence, I struggle to understand such a crass comparison to Brexit as the Irish escaping a millennium of occupation.

If large numbers of foreign workers leave then of course there's more job opportunities for British workers, but that only applies if the economy is in good shape. This is not the most difficult thing to understand, if the economic outlook is poor it doesn't help anyone. Still trust in Boris, probably the politician that has told the most lies in political history, we'll be fine! Well the rich will be OK, and we will have control over our borders! Hooray!

We’ll still have control of our borders.

    And that’s a win.
