Liverpool scouting mission Liverpool are monitoring Zenit St Petersburg’s Sardar Azmoun. Russian outlet Soviet Sport claims that members of the Reds’ scouting department were in attendance as Azmoun’s Zenit St Petersburg faced Lokomotiv Moscow at the VTB Arena in Moscow. Reigning champions Zenit were defeated 3-2 but Azmoun scored two goals either side of half-time. The 24-year-old only joined the Gazprom-owned outfit back in February for a fee of around £10.5million, having neared a loan move to Wolves in January which fell through on deadline day. Iran international Azmoun, formerly nicknamed ‘The Iranian Messi’, has long been tipped for a move to Europe with Liverpool credited with interest in the player since 2016.
The trouble is the fees are just astronomical now so it will become more common to be signing kids, let them get to 18/19 and you have to pay 50 million quid nowadays. Sign him up and loan him straight back for 2 years would be the best way I guess
doubt we will loan back. Fulham have no reason to develop a 16 year old who's mugged them off. he will go to u18s.
yep, he will go on tour see what hes all about, and if impresses klopp, he might make the move up, but prob too early.
doubt it as visas will be tough. he is 16 so not even a pro. just a scholar til next year. It's ridiculous as we could be shafted by him as max allowed contract is 3 years.
that is ridiculous, they preach they want clubs to promote and train young players, yet give no allowances and only have a 3 yr contract.
If you developed a kid up to age 16, gave him his debut and he came along and said no i'm not signing a scholarship and oh by the by I'm off to L4.... well you'd feel mugged off yeah? I would not take the kid back and do development work for 2 years for another club to benefit. BTW. Harry wilson and wooburn... this kid is directly in same position. make of that what you will.
dunno mate. the rules say we can only give him his first deal at 17 and he can onld sign til 20. our own rules are even stricter as we say the first deal is 12 months and at really low wages. Many kids who are not locals have awalked looking for more... but none have made it... grass is not greener.
Xherdan Shaqiri sidelined Xherdan Shaqiri is injured and could spend a considerable amount of time on the sidelines. That’s according to manager Jurgen Klopp, who confirmed the Swiss playmaker sustained a tear in his calf. “Shaq is still injured from the national team and it will take a while until he is in again,” Klopp said. “He has a tear in his calf, so he will not be involved for a while.” BREAKING NEWS Manchester United have made an inquiry into signing Southampton midfielder Mario Lemina, Sky Sports News understands. Lemina has been given permission to speak to other clubs by the Saints, having not been included on their pre-season training camp in Austria. Southampton are aware of interest from a number of other clubs in the Gabon international, who is 25. 10:16 BREAKING NEWS Everton are one of a number of clubs looking to sign Manchester City midfielder Fabian Delph. We understand there is ‘significant interest’ in the player who has one year left on his current deal and it’s believed he’s been told he can leave the club this summer. City are yet to receive a bid for the former Villa man but it’s likely clubs will make their interest official in the next few days. 9:45 UPDATE: Harry Maguire contract Manchester United are prepared to offer Leicester defender Harry Maguire an astronomical contract. That’s according to the Daily Star, who claim Ed Woodward will pay the England international £250,000 a week to join. Maguire, 26, currently earns £90,000 per week at the King Power Stadium but could see that nearly triple if he arrives at Old Trafford. Manchester United had a £70million opening bid rejected for the centre-back with the Foxes wanting closer to £90m - a fee that would make Maguire the most expensive defender of all time.
I think mitos point got lost in all this. We know that and every club has prob done this, mito was just responding to the comment of loaning him back. Why would you waste your time developing a player you just lost for another club to benefit from it.
yes. Theres no benefit unless fulham get 40 odd games out of him and back to premier league. at 16 thats never happening. TBH... he may never play for us. i dunno.
