Yup. And I'd be fine with that for the PL. I actually wouldn't want to be awarded any title on default (although athletics bump other places up and award new winners on default) I want to win it 'properly' - without state money play things for competition.

True. I'd be happier still if we had someone even richer than the sheikhs though. Still can't understand why work hasn't started to extend the Kemlyn/Kenny Rd stand yet, let alone the Anny Rd.

I read somewhere that FSG wanted to ensure that there would be demand for tickets if they extended further. They also had their plans for higher prices scuppered a while back. They will very much look for a good return on any investment.....if it was clear cut, I’d wager that we would have already started work <ok>

The Anfield road end is the only possible extension.

The fact is the club had ownership of houses on the centenary side of the ground but sold them back and would need imo about 3 rows of houses to add a 3rd tier to the centenary stand. The reasons being the stand is already at the maximum rake on that second tier. Further the stand already has corporate boxes so youd be doing probably 200mil to get in 7k general.admission fans. so it will never happen.

the Anfield road stand is like pulling teeth. the reasons seem varied.

a) project management capacity (poor reason imo) get Kirby done first is clubs excuse.

b) enabling works are huge. there's a lot of services under the road that need to move to enable the new stand. the club is pretty lazy about spending on those.

c) current stand design gives 4-5k more general.admission tickets. not enough.

d) there's a big issue with away fans to resolve.

the mooted cost was barely.one player now. the Anfield road end should be done even with a marginal business case but it doesn't seem to be how fsg work

On Robbo: any player could be affected by injury. Right now he’s the best there is.

On Bobby: you describe a false 9. I agree that Suarez was amazing and twice the player anybody was as a #9. ‘Was’.

Not a chance that hazard would put the effort in that Mane does. This is where it gets subjective. On the ball, Hazard is better, obviously. Ask him to work like a Trojan every game....Nah....

Agree though, without JK it all falls apart. What we have is a well oiled machine with carefully selected components, bought for the ability to work within the machine and not as a stand alone component.

If we are taking the red glasses off:

Robertson:
Top 5 left fulls in europe.
Jordi Alba has to be on the list imo.
Alaba has to be on the list
sandro has to be on the list
Kurzawa (PSG has to be close)
Robertson should be on same list

some people seem to want to have luis at atletico or marcello at real or alonso at cheslea or ghoulam at napoli...

On Firmino... A false 9 should at least arrive in the box for me. Firmino doesn't do it enough. he allows salah and mane do this. He's almost an advanced 8 or a real 10 than a false 9. he works best for me almost on half way line

IMO the ticket SHAMBLES that cost us 2 points shocked FSG. Theres no question at all theres demand... absolutely none. theres a 20 year wait for season tickets. anfield is sold out constantly.

The issue for me is theres no business case to add general admission tickets. The planning WILL lapse. we wont hear a thing about this until September IMO. then it will lapse and a new submission will be made for a 63k total capacity but its not going to be easy squeeze in that many and the away fans issue won't go away.

Ndombele on Spurs hopes
Tanguy Ndombele joined Spurs earlier this week for big money.
He’s been speaking on his future at the club.
“It’s very simple for me – Spurs are in the top four teams right now in England. I believe that my style of play is well suited to English football and Tottenham are giving me the opportunity to show that, so I am extremely happy to be here.
“For me, it’s been a dream of mine since I was a kid to play in the Premier League. Now I can make that dream come true right here. I can’t wait, I’m excited at being able to play in the Premier League and I’m hoping that we can achieve great things with the team.
“I hope to be able to bring what I know I can do – to do my bit for the team. The squad works really well together so I hope to start well, integrate, settle into the group and then continue in the same way. To win silverware, that’s also why I am here.”

I would have robbo near the top.

Having watched very little of the other lbs except in the cl, sandro alaba have big reps but have never really done it for me.

Robbos pace and energy is a huge factor. Only alba is comparible for me.

Kurzawa is new and hasnt really done anything?

Yeah I agree. Have alba top, consistent over a lot of years. robbo just behind, but catching fast.

Market is heating up.

Felix to Atletico,
Greizmann to Barca.

Neymar to barca
Coutinho to PSG

Dembele must go, barca are pushing him out for griezmann and neymar.

Utd are buying every journeyman in the prem.
City are spending on DMs and CBs and the like

So far we are doing nothing. I think our plans are set a long time ago so i doubt we will step in and poach unless one of our actual list is available at the right price.

Liverpool to trigger release clause

Jurgen Klopp is ready to trigger the €50m release clause in Real Betis full-back Junior Firpo's contract.

According to Marca, the Reds are keen to bring in the 22-year-old as an understudy to Andy Robertson.

Alberto Moreno has now left Anfield, leaving Klopp with little cover at the back if the Scotland international were to get injured.
Sounds feasible
