I think liquidation would be over dramatic. Regardless we were an attractive option at the time due to our recent history. SJH admitted though he'd hawked us all round europe looking for a buyer. He said once Roman came in at Chelsea that was the end for the likes of him and Jack Walker. He said the money to keep Newcastle at the top end of the league was already sending the club deep into debt and the banks were getting twitchy. Shepherd conceded this even though he didn't want to sell initially. Obviously they got out with a massive pay off at a £1 a share. Bullet dodged as far as they were concerned and Newcastle had been a good business venture for them.
Whatever we say about Ashley he has been rich enough to steer us away from any thought of those kinds of troubles via his "gift" loan. Unfortunately that gift was actually a trojan horse and one of the network of business decisions relating to the club which sees his tentacles seep so deep into the club its difficult to unravel. All absolutely deliberate. Standard aggressive business practices which those who work in the grey areas like to utilise. These decisions he makes are calculated and slip through while he receives a barrage about his other bizarre behaviours. They are all long term decisions which people never complain about until its too late (not that it would stop him anyway). From the club shop to the loan and many other matters, removing Ashley from our club is going to prove far from simple.
I believe it is simple enough. Let the money coming from supporters dry. That way he will know that the game is up. We both know the fat twat doesn't care about NUFC, he cares only for money, so if the supporters were to vote with their legs he will be forced to sell.
