Sharon van Etten on the John Peel stage, ****ing superb stuff. Best set of the weekend so far.

John Peel stage - hilarious - is there a Jimmy Savile, Rolf Harris and Stuart Hall stage as well

I know Dylan wasn’t there. Donovan was always touted as Britain’s equivalent of Dylan. My comment merely reflected my opinion that there was no ****ing comparison between the two as Dylan was light years ahead.
The closest Donovan came to Dylan was they were once in the same hotel room. I like 'em both, but as you say, different leagues.

Btw , the Kinks occasionally had a lousy stage presence. but many were brilliant performances.
Ray Davies had to be one of the most prolific composers /lyricists in the business. Half the time his band members (including brother Dave) were out of it. Irony is one of Dave's own solo compositions...

Just watched a bit of Bruce from 09 Quill
Must check that out. Never seen him live, but every recorded "live" concert I've seen, he certainly appears to be the most professionally genuine performer who looks as though he's really enjoying it. Putting everything he has into it.
My brother in law, who must have been to a dozen live concerts says he's brilliant every time

I absolutely love The Kinks and agree about Ray Davies, truly brilliant. To be honest, I think they were totally pissed or drugged out of their heads at Bickershaw.

Good call c-t-f.

I recall listening to Peel's show in the late 70s and he was always going on about bring your teenage daughter the John Peel Roadshow this Saturday in Norwich haw haw.

Teflon John he should be called such is his status at the nonce-ridden BBC.

They've never come to terms with his crime in the States or pervy persona on his late night show.

For every 'Teenage Kicks' he 'discovered, there were approx 200 **** songs/sessions/ B sides/total dross he also played.
