The new stadium will cost 3.7 million in business rates per year , the most for any sports venue in the UK according to the Times
I was thinking of the gridiron pitch,beneath.Will they change that if it is only used a few times?
It's plastic Smithy, they won't have to change it until it wears out.
The NFL pitch is astro turf over layed with sand so only needs a vacuum clean to remove an bits of skin and teeth from NFL players remaining after a game

Are the blue things shutters?
Jolly old Sainsbury's! I bet it's a little bigger than the one mum use to use in Lordship Lane many years ago. Of course she and nan used the Co-op on the Wood Green side of Lordship Lane.I can still recite their Co-op numbers.....but can't remember what I did yesterday!!!!!!?

Yes and no. The blue things are obviously lighting, I think most/all of it is behind closed panels. The 'shutters' don't open and close. They are permanently open, some of them to assist in cooling plant and venting (heating, air conditioning, etc.). Some of the open ones serve no purpose but balance the ones that need to be there.
According to Eddie Hearn, the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium is one of the venues being considered for the Joshua vs Ruiz rematch if the fight is in the UK.

to try and get some understanding as to how new WHL would be
configured for such an event (extra screens etc) .
I assume the attendance capacity would be the same as for an NFL event.
I guess Wembley and Twickenham can by default offer bigger capacity.
The Taxpayers arena ?? God knows how that would be configured for boxing.
I'd have thought that the capacity would be higher than for other sporting events, as there would be seating options in the pitch area.
Wembley doesn't seem to benefit from this though, so perhaps I'm mistaken. Capacity definitely increases for music there, though.
I don't expect that the Joshua v Ruiz rematch will be held in England.
His first attempt to fight abroad was an absolute disaster, so he'll want to correct that as soon as possible.
Mexico would be a mistake, so I think the US will host it once again.
BBC London just now had an article where a hockey event is being held
at Harlequins stadium, and they have put a temporary overlay pitch on.
A quick check of regulation pitch dimensions suggests that the new WHL
under pitch could hold such a pitch. Even if the pitch could not
directly be used, tis probably a lot quicker to add/remove the overlay pitch.

2 bits of news today...
1. The club have succeeded in their appeal against the planning permission refusal by Haringey in respect of The Goods Yard. The council refused as they wanted to CPO the land, so that they could add it to other local development projects that are frozen for who knows how long? It's a 330 homes development, so it should pay for a goodly amount of an 'Ndombele' or similar...https://www.goodsyardtottenham.co.uk/.
2. More naming rights speculation....This time it's Visa, who are NFL and 'soccerball' sponsors, so could well be interested. The gossip says it's close to being done....so it'll be the last that we ever hear of it.

IMHO that locale is a mare for a residential build.
I would rather they try and build a decent business centre there.
I think I recall that the council's intention is/was to relocate a lot of the existing businesses elsewhere in the borough and to make the High Road West a 'thriving area' of housing/culture/entertainment. I've no interest in the outcome one way or another, but the likelihood was always that it would become housing, no matter the proximity to the railway line or its historic use. The club want to improve the surrounding area (and make a load of money), which is to be expected. .
Next up, the adjacent plot of 867-879 High Road, which is intended for similar development...

The benefit of letting the club do it, is that it will get done whilst the rest of the HRW scheme remains in semi-permanent stasis.
