if he stayed 2 more years, he'd probably be a low prem, or high championship midfielder. i cant remember the last club he played for. somewhere in the outer congo werent it?
Looking at Wiki, Diego Poyet has made 50 appearances for 5 clubs over the last 5 seasons. 18 in a season is the most he has managed.
It could be argued that he ruined Jordan Cousins' career too. Poyet took over Cousins' role as def-mid, condemning Cousins to be shunted around in positions he wasn't suited to.
I’d love to read an Ackers transfer rumours thread Imagine if one of his rumours got on the Jim White show
Looks like we are signing Tom Lockyer. He was Bristol Rovers Captain last season. He is a defender, Welsh international.
By the way, what kind of contract do we think our free transfers will be getting? One year? Six months? Pay as you play?
Millwall have made Portsmouth striker Jamal Lowe their No.1 summer transfer target. Just the type of player an ambitious owner would have us interested in....
Charlton Athletic Sport Charlton Athletic cannot match financial terms offered by other clubs to Wembley hero Bauer 14th June 2019 Richard Cawley 0 Comments BY RICHARD CAWLEY Charlton head of recruitment Steve Gallen has admitted that the club will be unable to match the offers that Wembley hero Patrick Bauer has received this summer. The German’s last-gasp goal at the end of May took the Addicks into English football’s second tier. Bauer is a free agent in a little over two weeks. The centre-back’s goal against Sunderland was undoubtedly a blessing first – as it ended a three-year stay in League One – but also a curse in some respects as it also boosted his profile. Gallen admits that Charlton have not got the financial muscle to compete with clubs who have made moves for Bauer. “That [Wembley] will help in terms of trying to keep him – picking up the trophy and he really, really likes Lee and Jacko [Johnnie Jackson] as well,” said Gallen. “His agent is probably leaning on him. Pat will be thinking with his heart and his agents will be purely thinking with their heads. “They’ll be saying to him: ‘Charlton have made us an offer and these clubs have made these offers – which are way more. We recommend this’. “It will come down to Pat’s decision. We would like to negotiate with Pat, but I think it is going to be a tough one – because he will be offered a lot more money to go elsewhere than he is going to get with us. “His heart will be pulling one way, I imagine, but his head and his representatives will be pulling the other way.” Gallen is hopeful that midfielder Jake Forster-Caskey will accept the terms offered to him. His deal is up on July 1. “It’s too early to put deadlines on lads accepting these offers,” he said. “My feeling is that Jake will sign. That would be great for us and him.”
^^^^ I’m really not bothered about Forster-Caskey either way. His career fitness record is dire. The news about Patrick Bauer is very depressing. He will want the ££ at this stage of his career, and nobody can really blame him.
The Ozturmer rumour is doing the rounds on social media again. I’ve seen Bolton want £500,000 for a 29 year old....in which case, we clearly will not be signing him.
Rubbish he would leave with our gratitude.... like Jon Fortune, scoring one important goal does not make him a hero!... a very good player last season but not hero status like Killer & Doncs!
