Portsmouth a bigger club than Saints? - you are even more dumb than I thought. Our home gates are around 25000 every game, theirs is around 14000. Is that telling you something? Like your clapped out club, they have no money, very little support and face the same hopeless future you do. Don't be too impressed by Sven offering big money for a one season wonder = I suspect Leicester will be dumping him before long. Remind me how many fans you arer currently pulling
i do think you are the bigger club over pompey but not due to having having more fans watching games. i have to say this obviously as take us gasheads for example. our average attendance is lower than citys. but we are the bigger club. its just most of us gasheads have jobs etc so cant always watch the game. while city fans dont work so have time to prositute themselves to be able to pay to get to games. so having more fans watch games dont make you the bigger club which is clearly shown in our case
In which case I would like to hear by what criteria one judges the "bigger club" Thank you for saying we are a bigger club than Portsmouth - the only people in Hampshire who do not acknowledge this are the painful few at Portsmouth. We have a magnificent new stadium (33000 capacity) a training ground that equals virtually every premier club, an academy that several premier clubs envy & a regular attendances of around 25,000. This season, Portsmouth are attracting around 14000 - around 4500 less than last season. I am verry fond of BRFC and attended games at Eastville a few times in my army service days. Bristol City? - me thinks you may be involved in local derbies next season!!
You are of course absolutely correct = we Saints fans take nothing for granted & we would settle for consolidation this season. However, I think we are entitled to be optamistic for the future - everything is in place for long term success at the club, including owners with serious money. Our banter is running out of steam! - I wish you well for this season - I,m sure you will get going before long & remember, although we were in League One last season, after six games we were 4th from bottom. It,s far too early to make any predictions and at the end of the season a club currently struggling will surface near the top.
