He won't get anywhere close to the same wage. Very good move for all involved, imo.

Yes it's a gamble but all transfers are and Gerrard knows him well as they obviously played together.
 
Sturridge is probably still a good mid-table English Premier League level striker.

If we consider Celtic are probably lower EPL (at best) and the rest of the Scottish Premier League are Championship level or lower... Studge is going to be a big fish in a small pond. If he stays healthy he could dominate that league.
 
Sturridge doesn’t love the game imo. His unprofessional attitude at times and his mental fragility where his body is concerned has stopped him being one of the very best imo. As the lad can most certainly play.

I can see him potentially having an Indian summer in Scotland though, where, if he actually turns up, will provide him with an opportunity to be a 20+ a season striker.

It helps having VVD next to you. Gomez is a good CB but he's not one of the world's best.

I haven't seen this "delight" guy myself... But if he's really as good as they say, almost VVD level, and worth 70 million squid... That's above anything we can expect from Gomez.

Besides... Gomez is always injured, right Mito?

He's very much a confidence driven player.

When he was playing alongside Suarez he was on top of the moon and his playing showed it. When we got a rough patch and after he lost his first team status his attitude changed.

As long as he's a big dog and things are going well he's happy. Scotland will be easier for him and so he'll get the mental fitness back he had when he partnered with Suarez. I think being the main man instead of playing Salah's butler, will really help him. I think he's the kind of player that fares better when he's a star.

It's a slog up there... I could see him play one game a week not the europa (I think they are in that yeah) but blow up after 2 or 3 months.

yeah but thats 5 years ago. things have changed.

He cant run. he does a lot of things a classic striker needs to but if his team mates actually look for those types of little show and goes fair enough. I just dont think he's keep running or outpace many but my god its a ****e league
 
It's funny, we're clearly strongly linked to a Lyon player but the rags can't work out exactly which one so they're throwing all the names in - Dembele the latest one!
