I still don’t. The ball hit his chest and went onto his arm. There was no intent and it was ball to hand,

What's intent got to do with it? <laugh>

Do you actually know the UEFA rules on handball? If not then have a look and then tell me it wasn't handball <ok>

You people must be ****in stupid if you think I'm spending my evening on here after a game that was important to me

For lightweights like Sucky to puff their chests out when the last time I saw him he was running off to DIY store to purchase a bottle of Acid <laugh> stupid ****

Naaaah.....**** all of you...I'm off to enjoy the Cricket World Cup.

The rules are changing for next season afaik. Next season it’s a penalty.

No it's a penalty now. I'd agree with 99% of people that say it would be a pen 10 years ago and also in 10 years time.

Anyway it's hardly worth arguing when your team can't even score 1 goal and the opposition get 2. Bit clutchy mate.

This seems to say it’s subjective. A decision for the referee. You think it’s the right one, I disagree.

Handling the ball involves a deliberate act of a player making contact with the ball with the hand or arm.

The following must be considered:

  • the movement of the hand towards the ball (not the ball towards the hand)
  • the distance between the opponent and the ball (unexpected ball)
  • the position of the hand does not necessarily mean that there is an offence
According to this set of rules it would appear Sissoko and Spurs were hard done by. With his arm already outstretched, it is quite clear that Sissoko did not “deliberately” handle the ball.

However, the lines become blurred by a new interpretation of the rules introduced by European football’s governing body Uefa this year.
