Off Topic EU Elections

Unfortunately if we don’t vote we play even more so into the hands of the un democratic political classes, because no matter what happens elsewhere the lifelong labour and conservative voters will always vote for “their” party thus continuing the 2 party status quo which continues to **** everybody in the ass, like him or loathe him at least Farage wishes to give them a bloody nose and prevent them from continuing their un democratic referendum ignoring policies from within the EU, he might not be a man for some of the people but in my opinion he is a man Of the people.

I despair at the amount of people in the country who think Farage cares about the country and isn't trying to manipulate for his own gains.

Also, the only two parties with no manifesto: the Conservatives and the Brexit Party.

 

I think for the EU elections the Brexit Party is self-explanatory. Sadly there's no alternative for the 17.4 million who thought voting in a referendum actually meant what was asked on the voting form would happen...

 

It's generally accepted in political circles that manifestos are defunct and dying out. Nobody ever abides by them. They aren't worth the paper they're written on.

If The Yorkshire Ripper was running the Brexit Party, I'd vote for it. It's not a vote for Farage. It's a vote against injustice and for democracy and a return to an independent nation

 

Interesting. What part on justice, democracy and independency are you missing at the moment ? Not sure what you do for living but I fear my sector will be wiped out in the event of hard Brexit....but again I may migrate back to my original country or elsewhere (probably with your satisfaction) and HMRC will loose my family revenues.

 

It was made clear by all the major political players before the 2016 that Brexit meant leaving the CU and SM. That has not been delivered by a Remain Parliament.

So there's the justice and democracy points. I don't know what sector you're in that could be wiped out but in the event of a no deal all steps must be taken, working with the EU that will also want to mitigate the effects to their own citizens, to avoid adverse consequences. The road may be bumpy, we'll see. I still think we're seeing a front from the EU and faced with a genuine no deal approach (unlike the hollow threats from May), the EU will be pragmatic. Their respective economies are too fragile at present not to be.

 

Nothing about Brexit was made clear at all, and after 3 years of totally wasted energy, resources, and inability by the Government to do anything much else, nothing is any more clear about Brexit now. It would be major relief if it were revoked, and consigned to history books of giant balls ups.

 

You cannot put this genie back in the bottle. Don't take my word for it. Look at how the Brexit Party is polling.

I am in the financial sector (skinny cat) and without a shadow of a doubt there will be a further large migration with no deal (we can discuss financial passporting issues if you wish) affecting 30% of GDP. You must be very lucky or part of tbe elite not to care about your wallet. The rest of your arguments are pure rhetoric.

 

Fully understand Leave voters frustrations with how things have panned out but voting for anything fronted and led by Nigel Farage seems to be very reckless. I just can't comprehend how people believe the guy has theirs or the countries best interests at heart, he's a total fraud. I find the Brexit party just to be very crass but that's just my opinion. If (when?) they are successful in these elections our reputation is going to go even further down the pan.

 

Whilst I agree with that ,I think it's much easier to do if you're a remainer, as your wish is still in play.

It's interesting that you accuse me of rhetoric and can be as specific as 30% on GDP. The truth is, you don't know, because no one has an idea what mitigating arrangement would be struck if the UK proceeds with no deal. So all the specifics from the likes of you will be as accurate as George Osborns's predictions before the referendum. Democracy in this country is at stake. We have to leave.
