My understanding is there has not and will not be an approach for any player until an assessment has been made of our current players. Although there could be one exception. Although that was still not certain and no official approach has been made.........

Surely an assessment of our current players will have been made?

Austin for example, will need replacing.

The assessment has surely already been made on the players currently at the club. Im sure Beddy means those onloan except for Hoedt and Soares.

Correct.......also something about which players are leaving too I understand.

Ralph must have indicated or told the powers that be who he wants move on, its going to very difficult as it shift to them with wages alone... tho I expect we will subsidise some of the wages if the players in there final year.

As you indicate, there are plenty of innovative ways to move players on if you’re determined enough.
If we drop the transfer fee enough, then even a lot of smaller foreign clubs can subsidize a players wage drop with a higher signing on fee.

That's a good point regarding the signing on fee tbh!! Hopefully we are able to shift a few players.

I overheard some Huddersfield fans on the train down talking about options for them and Forster was discussed very positively. The stumbling block seemed to be that he was out of contract, which I didn't like to conradict.

So it shows how different people see yhings differently!

Cedric and Hoedt won't stay, Ralph wants both gone.

Carillo no idea

Boufal wants to take a look

Please just let us have one transfer window where we feel like we scraped a win.

Outgoings 1 - Incomings 2

The scoring system here is too complicated for me to explain without a calculator.

So dream scenario and we manage to shift who we want to shift then I'd like to see:

Centre back
Striker
Pacey AM/winger type
Right back
Central midfielder (2 if mario goes)
Young Keeper (if Alex goes)

Roughly in that order for me.

Libby, l have been wondering if FLT got the name of this thread right; perhaps it should be titled "Have we got rid of anyone yet?"

For all the obvious reasons of us needing a CB and a Striker I also think it's just as important to bring a more mobile and powerhouse of CM to play alongside Pierre.

Romeu is a decent player but is limited, And I don't massively think there is a future here for Lemina.

So I'd like to see Saints ship out Mario, and bring a CM In his place., with Slattery coming in as 4th choice.

I think a striker & a centre back are as equally high priority for us, followed by a winger/attacking midfielder and a right back. Then it depends on outgoings. While a centre back is important, I'm most looking forward to seeing who we sign in attack - Ralph played a fast, countering 4-3-3 at Leipzig didn't he? So, Redmond aside, it could be a totally new-look attack and Ralph said yesterday that next season's team will look very different.

Judging on the performance yesterday....I would say we need to bring in around 6 or 7 and get rid of about 11...!!!!
