The French Guineas races look set to be run on very soft ground. The irony is that Andre Fabre allegedly kept Persian King in France rather than come to Newmarket because he thought he would get better ground at Longchamp but it turned out that Magna Grecia won on ground in our Guineas and Persian King will have to get his swimming trunks on over in Paris. The whole affair has seemed a balls-up to me and although I have backed Persian King for the French Derby at 10/1 and want him to win the French Guineas, I can't bet him at 8/11 when the trainer says the horse prefers a sound surface. In the 1000 Guineas I have backed Suphala at 11/2 and she is slightly less popular than Watch Me, who beat her a short head last time in the trial race the Prix Imprudence. I am wary of the value of the favourite Castle Lady, who was supplemented but seems a but tight at 3/1. Fabre's filly was said to have still been in her winter coat for the trial race and should improve from that race, with connections stating that the extra furlong should be in her favour from the 7F trial. Her two wins last year were at a mile and the Frankel filly should be involved in an open looking race where Kevin Ryan's East is the UK interest. Over in Ireland Broome lines up at 4/9 for the Derrinstown after romping away with the Ballysax last time out. He'll be looking to strengthen O'Brien's hand while the UK and other Irish trainers seem to be able to hold a candle to the Ballydoyle hordes. Not worth betting in this race unless you fancy Weld's Rakan as an alternative at 7/1. In the Fillies Guineas trial it looks a weak affair. Titanium Sky makes a quick reappearance after finishing 6th last week but even with that Group 3 run being a bit disappointing she was a 6/1 shot that day and still recorded a personal best. She is progressive and this looks a weaker race than last week's. As long as she is fine after the short break between races, I think she looks the one to beat at 3/1. 2.50 Leopardstown Titanium Sky 3/1 3.30 Longchamp Suphala 6/1
In the first at Ludlow I'm having an EW go at Midnight Gem 20/1. Tumbled down the weights and will come on for her comeback run.
One or two that interest me today. 1:55 Ludlow - Mr Fenton 33/1. A rare ew bet for me. Very speculative. Two nothing runs since returning from a long absence but the cynical part of my brain is saying that maybe just maybe they're gently nursing the horse back to fitness. It's a bugger of an animal but does have some talent so I'm taking a chance of sneaking into a place (or better) with bet365 going 4 places. 2:55 Plumpton - Mogestic 5/1. You have to go back to this time last year for any sort of worthwhile form for this horse but it did win this race last year and with the yard in ok form and a jockey up who knows the horse well, I'm picking today as the day it returns to the winners enclosure. Win bet. 3:15 Killarney - Kilbarry Lilly 16/1. An improving horse with a decent jockey up. Decent run last time out and a big price today. Win bet. 3:30 Plumpton - Riddlestown 6/1. Ran no race whatsoever last time over hurdles. Back over fences today with the excellent Bryony Frost up. The horse is as inconsistent as any out there but is also capable if it's on a going day. It's a little bit speculative trying to take the well fancied favourite on. I would have liked a bigger price but you get what you get. Win bet. All singles. Might also throw them in an ew lucky 15 with there been four of them.
Killarney 1.35pm Stronghold 11/8 win. A member of our syndicate has text me as his mate knows someone close to the yard. It's fully expected to win today ..just relaying the info and at the price that probably doesnt come as a surprise. I have had a smallish bet on it for a bit of fun. Nothing major..
I will back all of Skeltons today in a five fold, three at Ludlow and two at Plumpton. 66.52/1. Sent from my SM-G960F using Tapatalk
You will know that I have been extolling the chances of East for some time, and I am as confident now that she will win comfortably. Frankel's handle a soft surface, and with the Indian ridge influence in her pedigree the ground should be perfect for her. The draw is of no concern and her biggest asset is her turn of foot. If Spencer gets the fractions right she will win easily. She is as low as 4/1 in some places and I could see her starting favourite. The distance also fine - she has entries in 10 furlong races. She will win, or it will egg on face time!
Moore could probably have won about 3 races at Leopardstown today, i know it's only 100,000 euro's in prize money as opposed to the french 250,000 but Coral Beach looked a very smart horse last time and Moore's only ride of the day i'm sure he'll be going hell and leather like usual, 14/1 just looks too big
Chris Hughton was the last manager of a team to beat Manchester City on the final day of the season (Norwich City 2013.) Just saying
The Brighton players are already on the beach but stranger things have happened!!Done below treble 7/1 Rags -1 v Cardiff Newcastle win away to Fulham Palace win at home to Cherries
totally exposed animal 13 runs and two wins. Surely not good enough in this company. Never raced over this distance, and by Zoffany not sure to get a mile.
Clearly improving though, it beat the likes of Guaranteed, Old Glory and No Needs Never last time, (The boys) who are all rated now about 106-110. So it's form is definitely up there, granted Watch Me and Castle Lady could be anything but it definitely has the form to win this race and is most definitely good enough, and at the very least is a massive e/w price
Can see them doing it but can equally see Liverpool ****ing it up and Wolves getting yet another result vs a top 6 team
I changed my Fantasy Football team for the last day of the season. Dropped both my Man U players (Zaha for Rashford, Sterling for Pogba) and got in a Burnley striker for Jiménez of Wolves who has only one goal in last seven matches, so he will probably get a hat-trick at Anfield. I can see the Gooners and Chelsea both losing today as they play for nothing before the trip to Baku. Best bet on the last day fixtures looks to be Crystal Palace as Woy will make them play until the end.
If race fit ANODOR is a decent price in the boys race. Only horse to beat Persian King when they met on debut and was quite convincing that day.
25/1 for the top 6 all to win today, doubt that's happened for a long time this season 50/1 for 3 draws (spurs/everton, arsenal/burnley, leicester/chelsea) looks good Yep Jimenez is a great player, it's weird how late the Europa and CL finals are this season (29th of May and 3rd June i believe) about 3 weeks away, we play a friendly in America friday!
A little speculative anytime goal scorer acca for me. Glenn Murray (obviously) Ashley Barnes Wilfried Zaha Mo Salah 45/1
Man City -1 Southampton Mansfield Rangers All to win Leicester/Chelsea Spurs/Everton Watford/West Ham Both teams to score 7 fold returns £196 for my modest £5 stake
