It was highlighted again last summer. Mourinho wanted Toby Aldwerweireld and Perisic, Woodward wasn't prepared to buy players who were 30 or very close to it, having paid a fortune for Zlatan just to see him leave shortly after. So, Mourinho goes into a terminal sulk and is sacked a few months later.

We had Harry wanting Rio Ferdinand, whereas the club wanted younger prospects and promoting from the Academy. Harry really wanted Scott Parker, who had one great season and that was that. There's a strong suggestion that MP wasn't hugely interested in Dele and David Pleat carried the day.

The manager wants players ready to go out of the box and win something/avoid the sack. The club want growth in value and return on investment. Like most businesses, it's the battle of jam today or jam tomorrow?

Note how Nemesis ensured a goal was only scored for the
3rd penalty award (which was legit) .

She obviously has a heavy workload in the lower leagues
(and has not been able to give the PL her full undivided attention) .

...a scenario made more stressful if a club has a rogue DoF who is happy to play Football Manager in real life with the club's money at the expense of the actual manager due to their misguided belief that they won't be sacked because of it, which means the manager and chairman both discover they've got a larder filled with Marmite

Better generally in Europe than Trippier, but I doubt he will rushed back for a game of this magnitude

Sadly, it's a possibility. Our Turkish mate is the ref too, so he may not fall for the usual bullshit from both sides.

1-0. Origi. Barca have been ****e, so far. Very sloppy and giving the ball away under no pressure.

In fairness no one could have seen that Soldado or Janssen would be flops...that's purely with the benefit of hindsight

Doesn't matter, unless Barca score. Game's in the balance, unfortunately.

Liverpool fans think Fabinho deserves a free kick for running into Coutinho <doh>
    One-eyed doesn't cover it.
