Had a group of mates in the 80s and we shared a house. I knew him from being 15 or so. He was a Liverpool fan cos...and I quote...my dad plays in a band and they do some Beatles songs! The night Arsenal best Liverpool at Anfield to win the title led to him almost having a break down .... smug ****er was sitting bragging about how his team (that he'd NEVER gone to see apart from when I took him to WHL) would dominate English football into the 21st Century. He almost actually blubbed when Thomas scored...I was do ****ed off at the gooners winning the title, then saw him and pissed myself...not sure if that was the beginning of the end of us being mates...but **** , the look on his face was pure gold!
