Hello all
I'm not sure of the length of sponsorship that LV have with us, but I for one would prefer a decent sponsor that frees us of the shackles of a lowlife operator. I have a family member who is 30k in the red due to the nefarious nature of companies like this. I'd like the club I support to seek a better sponsor than the current lot. Would be lovely if we embraced a charity, for example, to adorn our shirts. I know the profit to us would be peanuts, but the tangible gains for society far far better a reward than our current sponsorship label.

Deal was signed for three seasons from July 2017, so next season is the last of the initial deal.
In an ideal world, promotion brings with it a chance to review that contract and perhaps look elsewhere. Given how many clubs in the football league have betting sponsors at the moment, I suspect very few companies are offering comparable sums. Regardless, it would be good to see the club actively promoting charities that help those with gambling problems/addictions.

Speaking as someone that spent 20 years in the gaming industry gamblers are the dumbest people on the planet.

I have seen people blow £30k in 1 hand of Punto Banco I have zero sympathy for them .
Booze ***s sugar fatty food drugs sex and gambling are all bad we know they are , the league we just left are also sponsored by Sky bet.
Football teams rely on sponsorship and Leo Vegas are no worse than the others.

I wasn't thrilled when Norwich Union sold out to Aviva and moved thousands of jobs abroad either.

Unless we are going to get sponsored by a vegan food giant any future deal will be with a Globalist company that don't care about us.

With prudent financial management, NCFC (the board) can decide that they only want to do business with companies with high ethical standards. Many investors have portfolios constructed around such philosophies. They may need to accept that they may not receive as much sponsorship revenue as a result. Personally I would like to see NCFC make such a decision when the current deal expires. They do not need to promote gambling.

Vote with your pockets , I refuse to buy Colmans mustard since they left our fine city and haven't bought myself or my children any Leo Vegas shirts.
Aldi generic English mustard all the way for this free thinking capitalist.

I'd love to see an energy company such as Bulb sponsor us (their Electricity is 100% from renewable sources and they have one tariff!!) Yes, they would offer a lot less than the mega-rich gambling giants etc, but I'd certainly prefer it - especially with the £Ms we'll get for just one season in the PL!!

Edit - I expect us to have a few seasons in the PL!!! :emoticon-0102-bigsm
 
They pay more than others... that's all it boils down to. In the football scheme of things we're not particularly wealthy so it must be very hard for our commercial guys to turn down a premium-paying sponsor especially when lots of other club are doing the same. Not ideal, but i'm sure there were similar conversations in the lead up to cigarette advertising being banned. Won't be long I guess till alcohol and online gambling ads go the same way.

Yes, gambling is dumb, and gamblers will keep on gambling and watch any game and 90pc of the ads are promoting more gambling, with a withering "until the fun stops" as a health warning. Football is bet on more than any sport and LV want a slice of that. Just IMO we would set an example if we looked elsewhere. Anglian Windows still operating? They'd be transparent.

The deal we had (for about a fortnight) with a fair-trade coffee company proved that it's how many zillions you're worth rather than the ethics you promote that get signatures on the line, sadly.
And you can't really blame the CEO of a football club whose brief is to maximise revenue streams wherever possible.
I agree with the OP but can't ever see it changing, sadly.
We could support saving palm oil plantations and therefore the declining orang utan population - it might earn us kudos...but it wouldn't raise a lot of revenue, sadly.
