Unless they stretch it out for another series or six. Though either Arnott or Hastings has to be sacked after today’s episode.

I've got it. The surname of the Stephen Graham 'gone rogue' character is Corbett isn't it? It's a double-bluff thing and he's actually H.

Harry 'H' Corbett.

It's got more ridiculous as it goes on....does every bent copper have to have a surname beginning with H! Hastings is too obvious, and would also be an anti-climax, though I really can't see it being either of the other two (although anything is possible)

More plot blunders too...as an undercover cop, why walk around with a jiffy bag with your contacts name on it like you're delivering a birthday card!

When they went into the Downs Syndrome boys house, the camera lingered on the door for what seemed a few seconds, with the letter B...is this a clue as to what H actually means?

Don’t ever go

Two rides cancelled due to travelers standing up on tiger water slide thing

Two tyres on my Porsche done in the grass car park ... valves cut off

Got home at 11pm after waiting 3 hours for the AA
Having got the nippers and Mrs home safe in taxi

Stood in queues for a total of 3 hours 55 minutes

Day out in the U.K. cost me £700 but I did get to the see the otters

Zombie families everywhere ranging from the disfunctional to the new parents of hummus god of extreme anxiety... careful Tarquinius do not run in the sun you will get cancer

Why did I do it ? Mrs DT and the nephews

Never again back off home to France

Unless the script writers just can't spell, Hastings spelt definitely as definately in the laptop message. The genuine message in the last episode did the same. I only noticed because it annoyed me!

If it's not him, then he's quite shifty for an innocent man. I wouldn't have thought that Flemming or Arnott are senior enough.

All obviously utter hokum, but nonetheless entertaining. If it turns out be Fleming that would be daft as she never knew about Cottan and chased him across half of the city before being winged by a black Range Rover. Interesting that Cottan then pushed her out of the way to take the bullets, but she’s not exactly high-ranking is she?
 
Just finished Stephen Hawkings' final book, Brief Answers to the Big Questions. I thought it was going to be a heavy read, so had left it by the bed awaiting a perfect time of peace to get my head round it. In fact, it is superbly written for the "man on the street", not full of jargon and equations like some others that I have read.

He set himself 10 questions:

Is there a God?
How did it all begin?
Is there other intelligent life in the universe?
Can we predict the future?
What is inside a black hole?
Is time travel possible?
Will we survive on Earth?
Should we colonise space?
Will artificial intelligence outsmart us?
How do we shape the future?

His explanations for each question are thought provoking and put across in a manner the defies argument (although I presume some religious fanatics would argue with him about God). It's also short enough (just over 200 pages) that it doesn't put off the casual reader - I've read A Brief History of Time, and understood about 25% of it, and know why many wouldn't even open the book, but this is completely different.

Highly recommended.

We've been catching up on A House Through Time. Utterly compelling, particularly the WW1/IRA episode. David Olusoga is a wonderful broadcaster.

I’m really enjoying it, to the extent that yesterday morning before I drove back after dropping my daughter off in Newcastle, I had a wander past it in Ravensworth Terrace, which is very close to the centre of town. It’s a lovely house. Each time I go there I like Newcastle more and more. Olusoga wears his heart on his sleeve, which I rather like. I suspect he would prefer to look at a working class dwelling, but that would be very depressing and the records wouldn’t be as good.

Sat through 3 hours of “Avengers: Endgame” this afternoon with my lads.

Overwrought, overblown, long-winded and self-indulgent.

I enjoyed the last one (“Infinity War”) but this one was hugely disappointing.

The box office has me in the minority, of course.

I find it hard to imagine anything worse (although Mark Kermode seemed to like it). I'll bet your boys enjoyed it, though.

My daughter went to see it last night in 4D. She loved it, despite not having seen any of the previous 22 films except the Infinity War one, which her pal insisted she watch prior to endgame. She said the 4D didn’t add much though.

it is ridiculous, but it’s a guilty pleasure of mine. But only on planes, when I want undemanding stuff and I usually doze a bit. Some of them are very funny (intentionally), but the epic CGI stuff gets dull quickly.

The big problem with them is they have sucked a lot of money out of making other types of films.
