Nah, just an hour east of San Diego at Lake Cuyamaca. Chill spot close to Julian, a little mining town famous for apple pie.
You don't have to drive far to see different stuff here. Within a couple of hours you can be in the desert or the mountains or head to the beach.

I do like the west coast of the USA. Been to California/Nevada/Arizona/Washington, as well as Vancouver in Canada. Fantastic places to visit. When our eldest daughter got married a few years ago, they had their honeymoon on the west coast, as a fly/drive trip from San Fransisco down to San Diego, and especially liked San Diego Zoo.

San Diego zoo is a nice spot. We've been members ever since we moved here, it's one of the cheapest things to do all year. Costs us less than 200 bucks for 2 adults and a child. Free entry all year plus entry to the Safari Park and free Africa Tram at the park (that's the tram that takes you around the wilderness enclosure.

The Safari Park is cool as well.
