My friend, every one looks at what is printed and forms an opinion based on their own circumstances. People must be allowed to voice their opinions, and except that others have a different point of view and perhaps their reasons for that point of view.You have expressed why it was difficult for you personally, as have a few others.In another post you suggested that people were "slamming people for leaving early" You said "it ain't right". In the first place I certainly haven't seen anyone "slamming people" I think this is a very strong term......people have criticised people for leaving early and for good reason. Your own particular problem aside, looking at it from another prospective. You have not been able to come to a game for some time. You made a lot of effort to come and watch Saints you have paid decent money to get in .......but some berk keeps standing in front of you, so you keep missing crucial pieces of the action. It begins to spoil your entertainment......are you telling us that you wouldn't use a forum such as this to complain about it? Also you said that you forked out good money the same as everyone else........So very true, but nobody was questioning your right to do so just that you did. I am sure you will agree that most would argue they had a good reason as you have done, but how many of those explanations are reasonable, yours most definite, but a lot of the others....................

Yeah i see that now, i wouldn't like some guy keep getting up infront of me or standing the whole time. But having the problem i have i sometimes look at it in a different light. Yes there are alot of people that just do it but others have medical conditions. So are quite entitled to keep getting up etc. But yeah it would still annoy me.
May I suggest people organise there lives better and not annoy me at football by leaving early. If you have to meet someone after the match then it's in your best interest to inform them that there time of 5pm at the civic centre clock is not acheiveable and 5:15 is the earliest you can make it. Early and fair communication leads to honest and more rewarding social relationships

If I ruled the world goalkeepers would have bungee cord attached so if they felt the urge to wander aimlessly up the pitch they would be twanged very firmly back into the goal. I should never watch football as I am of a nervous disposition. I rarely call out specifically to players..more like a general whimper..but if I see Kelvin wandering up the pitch looking for daisies to add to his necklace, I'm the one yelling, 'Get back in your hutch, Davis.' I call it the Naim (sp?) from the half-way line effect.
I think every seat should have a cafeter fitted, thereby eliminating the need to leave seat to use the toilet, don't see it catching on though
If that's a spelling mistake, it's appropriate, as you could be referring to Naim amplifiers [I've got a set], which would make sure Davis heard your call.
I've only ever left a game early twice. First time away to Middlesborough. I was only 18 and decided to go up at the last minute from Leicestershire and didn't bother checking train times until I got there. Had to leave early 5 mins early to ensure I got home but saw Moran's equaliser just before I left. Seond time was away game at Spurs. 1-1 with 1 minute to go and Spurs player ran through. Flowers ran out and made a superb save at his feet. Player dived and ref awarded a penalty. I was so disgusted I just walked out fuming. There have been a few games I have wanted to leave early but never do. When I had a season ticket at The Dell there was an old guy and his grandson who sat in front of us. The poor kid must have grown up thinking football games lasted 80 minutes. That's when they always left. Didn't need the clock to tell us when there were 10 minutes left.
Normally I agree with you entirely it baffles me why people wouldn't want to stay around and see the game out, however on Saturday I had to get the 5:10 train the Cardiff so I imagine there are a few like this every week. And I don't feel like a bad fan for doing this, I didn't go down on the Friday in the at with everyone else, instead I payed the train fair to watch saints. Well worth it.
I think everyone understands the special cases. The trains that have to be caught for long distance journeys, etc... And especially Beattieing, with his disabling condition, for example. It's the ritualised 5 mins late arriving, 5 mins early into the concourses, 5 mins late coming back to their seats, Leaving 5 mins early, to avoid traffic [what traffic, if everybody stays there won't be any], or some other slightly different version of the above, which gets to other supporters. And it's largely based on the need to get another pint down the throat in some form or another.
We all except that for some time is of the essence.....schedules etc or may be illnesses and special arrangements. Despite this there is some that you can set your watch by. They come and sit down 5 minutes after the game has started then 5/10 minutes depending on how many have already gone before half time. 5 minute after half time they come back frequently although not always halfway through second half there off again returning some 5/10m minutes later. Sit for maybe 20/15 minutes and then home usually between 5/10 minutes before full time. Effectively 10/15 minutes before a game ends. The reality is that they have probably only seen the equivelent of about one half or maybe a little more. What they don't seem to care about is the interferance with others viewing and the disruption it causes. If it was just the odd one or two it would not be such a problem but it is hundreds if not thousands. That can be very disruptive
Wasn’t almost 25k an amazing turn out on Saturday. Only second to Westham and bigger then Leeds, a City 5 times the size of ours.
