Man u until the second goal, then switched to watch Cardiff give Brighton a good hiding. Chris Hughton looked in shock!

The Brighton result slipped under the radar due to the CL but they are on a terrible run of form. 4 defeats on the trot without scoring a single goal and they have an insanely difficult run-in with Wolves, us and Arsenal away and then City at home. Cardiff by contrast are playing well they just keep getting screwed by rubbish officials.

I fear the worst for Chris, I really do.

We will Gift Aid them.

The prospect of an Ajax - Spurs semi is a tantalising one. Two teams with so much in common, from footballing tradition to (a largely one-way) multiple transfer dealings, to faith in youth, to doing things the right way, to two Yid Armies.

Please, Spurs, make it happen. Please.

After watching that Ajax performance last night in particular, I will be a nervous wreck for 180 minutes if we get drawn against them. They are superb.
I’m starting to wonder if we could be seeing a fairytale CL story here, much like when Leicester won the PL.

We are drawn against them if we get past Citeh.

Often ex Spurs players score against us so let's hope ex Ajax players score against them. They remind me a bit of the Busby Babes.

Same time as QFs mate.

I’ve been in the dark this whole time. <laugh>
As good as Ajax are, and with the lead we have against city, this is our best opportunity ever to progress in this competition.
If we do make it past City, the Ajax game should be awesome. And it’ll be nice to play someone a bit different, despite how difficult it’ll be.

Come on,we are Spurs, a tradition of bottling semi's. Beat Citeh, Lose to Ajax after being in front after 90 minutes of the second leg, classic Spurs.

Of course, if we did reach the semis, expect the press to treat us as pariahs for standing in the way of the Ajax Fairytale™

I can't help but feel that Juve were made for Ajax. They play in a slow league with nobody getting anywhere near them and win the title every season. Ajax are young, fast and just went at them. Without Chiellini leading the back line and the cheating, they were undone. We should have done this to them last season. Despite outplaying them over the 2 games, we ****ed it up.

It was a similar story for the Dutch against Madrid in the previous round. Again, an ageing team that we outplayed last season. Against a PL team used to playing at a faster pace, I would expect Ajax to find things a lot tougher. Not that they can't win it but there's a shift in power towards strong, athletic pacier teams, as evidenced in the WC where, Germany, Spain, Brazil, etc. also came up short. There will be 2 such teams in the semis and Ajax will have to play one...I think that's probably as far as they go. Had they drawn Barcelona, I'd expect them to make the final.

They remind me of us about 3 years ago...but I'd say they are better because they are fearless. We were good but nerves undid us on the whole...I had put it down to inexperience

Yeah for sure. I’ll go Dam if we get through. Not been in about 5 years.

Yids vs Joden, will be electric. Amsterdam Arena is superb too.
