Well, we beat Everton 2-6 up there remember and with Brighton, Bournemouth and them yet to play along with the Bubbles I don't think you're going to be overtaking us anytime soon.
Despite their decent form heading into this game, I still think Silva is very overrated manager. He didn't impress me much at all at Watford and hasn't done much to sway my opinion at Everton, either.
Yeah, I think he's pretty crap too, to be honest. There was some stat about goals conceded from set-pieces and his Everton side were only better than his Watford side and his Hull team! Doesn't seem to get the best out of his players and there's very little consistency there.
Well, for what it's worth, I never really thought we were going to overtake you in the league, even when you had that recent sticky patch. Our away form is awful and your fixture list is piss easy, aside from the City game. Even without Kane, you have enough quality to beat the teams you're facing. If you do lose to City in the league fixture, I still expect you to win all your remaining games. 4th is still up for grabs, though. Between us, Chelsea and United. But if we lose to Watford on Monday (which is probable), then we should put all our eggs in the Europa League basket, as that would be our best chance of getting CL football next season.
City are running out of steam so 15 points might be up for grabs. We'll know more about City's form tomorrow at Palace.
I think it's a bit premature to say that just yet. They've still got lots of quality in depth, apart from their strikers (not a fan of Jesus). They had Kompany, Stones, Sane, de Bruyne and Foden on the bench against you. Not exactly a bad selection to choose from. Some of those players will be fresh because they've not played a lot of minutes recently.
They weren't convincing against Huddersfield and Fulham and only beat Brighton 1-0, then they lost to us. One goal in 2 matches Brunel, at this stage of the season that's not good.
Oh the dilemma! Little in football life gives me greater joy than the continuing decline and embarrasment of the Spammer, but..... We really could do with the Utd challenge to peter out completely
United getting all the decisions so far, spammers goal chalked off was onside and the softest of penalties allows Utd to take the lead.
Spanners have started well, but denied a goal for offside (understand why given but on replay debatable) and then concede an iffy penalty. Probably the right decision, but not again debatable.
Utd have Everton away and City home next, then Chelsea at home later on. The team's playing as if Mourinho is still in charge so I wouldn't worry about Utd for a top four place.
More reverse psychology LDL? You can't fool us - Not playing well again today though - but now I have given you a boost should finish 3-0
Back to the slow, ponderous, uninspiring play typical of Mourinho's reign. No control in midfield either today. Herrera is badly missed.
