Yep- had the vinyl Santa Monica bootleg back in the 70s with this as the walk on music. Think years later when it came out 'officially' on CD they omitted it, but it was a real good opener as they launch into 'Hang onto yourself'
Likewise, had the bootleg until somebody stole it. The official release was done by Bowie as a tribute after Mick Ronson’s Untimely death. RIP them both.
Not the vinyl version but some kind of tape offshoot from same recording by the sound of it Wait on, just found this
Brilliant clip and think that concert was better than the Ziggy Stardust film from Hammersmith Odeon the following August when Bowie announced he was killing Ziggy off. Can you post “My Death” as want that track played at my funeral? Cheers
This one?
Yes, brilliant, thanks. Hope it’s a long time before my friends get to hear it at my funeral, my wife said she’d cry all the way through it, but unfortunately she passed away fairly recently so won’t have to suffer it. Track was written by Jacques Brel, who also co-wrote Seasons in the Sun (Terry Jacks’ No 1) and If you stay for Dusty Springfield amongst many other soulful songs.
