Should UK schools stop teaching children about LGBT rights ?

I was replying to your 'Just leave things alone' comment. It's an outdated thought process you have which is common with your generation through lack of understanding. White kids don't go around bullying black kids in this country no more because education has helped play a big part in different races mixing to become the norm. So, I was saying back in the day when black people were terribly abused and campaigns were trying to change things, were you screaming 'Just leave things alone' then?

There’s a stigma attached to LGBT that needs to be addressed to remove it and that starts with kids who are the future of our country. It will take time but if we start now by the time these kids grow up the stigma will be removed.

I disagree. As I’ve said if a kid displays gender confusion of any sort then that should be addressed. Otherwise I see no need to interfere.

As far as being gay or straight, kids should be taught that both are perfectly normal.

As far as racism goes, despite totally unfounded accusations against me, I have never seen the sense of disliking somebody because of the colour of their skin. That goes back to when I was a kid. It remains the same today. Those who know me know I don’t have a racist bone in my body.

It's clear why he resorts to abuse to try to silence people and disrupt things, and why he prefers politics kept on the politics thread where less people will see that you don't have to scratch far to see his right wing bigotry surface.
 
I may be controversial here but I don't want my ****ing yout sitting in LGBT lessons ffs. I can teach him the way of the world. I'm not homophobic etc. but he doesn't need some ****ing numpty telling him bullshit about getting your cock chopped off.

Learn your English, Maths and Science and leave the rest to the parents.

I've never accused you of racism and I never made a comparison.

So you believe half of LGBT should be taught and the other half should have to put up with the stigma? That's not right, at all.

Teach the kids that boys and girls being in a homosexual relationship is okay, but allow the stigma for the bi-sexual and trans people to carry on without it being tackled in the schools?

Mate I think I discussed this with you before. As father's the thought of a cock in any orifice with any gender is uncomfortable

With regards to kids you do the best you can and you put across what are essentially your beliefs. After that they are still your kids and you do the best you can.

With regards to my belief and homosexuality. It's pretty simple. I am Muslim and I have the "criteria" in front of me. If I choose to follow a different criteria I don't expect Muslims to accept it and it's nowt do with them anyway. The basic belief being only God can judge me

That's a different discussion mate. And one I can agree with you.

However the case I'm highlighting is that it isn't picking on LGBT as is being portrayed

How you’ve managed to come up with that summation is beyond me!..

My point was it isn't as portrayed ie a Muslim v gays thing.

I get your point about letting kids know about the "reality" out there. But from what I can see from reading (and I could be wrong) the teacher fella isn't following the curriculum. Rather trialing something which is his agenda and something he has been in "trouble" for before.

In fact it would be interesting to see if he was breaking the law as is, in that you can't teach certain things until age appropriate eg puberty just before puberty etc

So, I'm saying why just stop there and not teach them about bisexual relationships and people who choose to live as transgenders?

Semantics perhaps - but I don't think they choose to 'live as transgrnders' ... they choose to be considered as the sex they believe they really are but for being born with the 'wrong genitalia...

Well we all know this is Si wanting to have a dig. As I said from my understanding the primary school stuff is just exposing the kids that other forms of relationships out there rather than mum and dad, I don’t think in the scheme of it there is anything more than that, if one teacher has gone rogue, yeah that needs to be addressed (not read about that), however I have read groups protesting are trying to find bullshit excuses that is nothing more than cloaking their bigotry.

I do get your frustration as whilst yes this has been objected to by a few Islamic groups, we both know they are far from alone.

Indeed - I'd expect the US bible bashing Trump supporters that Si admires so much would have equal objections to those Islamic views he is referring to ...
