Oh agreed I just mean that goal difference is only really worth comparing when both clubs have the same number of points or only one win apart. Two 4-0 wins for Leeds would pretty much see our advantage gone for example.

The only point where GD comes under pressure is where a team plays another that could concede a rout. Just to say Leeds play Ipswich on the final day.

Leeds' last 7 games have yielded 4 wins and 3 losses compared to our 7 wins, so it'd take a surprising change in form for GD to make that much of a difference. They've taken 12 points from 7 while we've taken 21, thus the current 8 point spread from the time they were just a point behind us. The Blades are 5-1-1 over the same period.

The mid week fixtures offer another opportunity to open the gap further. Home to Reading us far preferable to away to PNE or Brum. By this time on Wednesday we could easily be looking at a ten point gap between us and third place.

Spot on about the pressure, would also add that we've shown that we can handle it.

Good point. For me, the turning point came when we beat Leeds 3-1 at Elland Road. They've wobbled on and off since then. The Blades have done better, but their loss to Bristol City was a recent wobble as well. We could have gone the same way after the loss at Preston, but instead we've rattled off 8 straight wins to open a 7-8 point gap which must seem a chasm to them. Form doesn't get much better than that. A win against Reading will further increase that whether or not the others drop points as the points available from remaining games decreases.

That's the way they should be thinking, GE, but some Leeds fans can't bring themselves to accept that we're 8 points ahead of them. Our concern is more about when we will achieve promotion, preferably as champions.

So, the (once) mighty Leeds travel to Deepdale this evening to face AN's Preston and anything other than a victory could REALLY dent their hopes of finishing in an automatic promotion slot.
Of the other games, WBA are away at Bristol.

If Leeds win might it be because Preston didn't bother turning up against them due to their being an irrelavence and small club that hasn't had a sniff of the PL in years? But Preston turned up for the; mighty, large, yoyo club that is Norwich City? Damn those pesky clubs raising their game for the best team in the league!

Bah!

And of course, Rudd played a 'ruddy' blinder and saved a penalty!!!!

Looking at the remaining 6 fixtures for all three teams I think that you would take ours first, then Blades with Leeds potentially the trickiest.

Yes Leeds have got probably the toughest run in, lets face it they were only top having played the weaker teams, now they are playing the stronger teams, they're not top.

You are mistaken young sir, it is because they are simply huge and everyone tries harder against them. Playing them is like a cup final dontcha know? Elland rd, Wembly of the north

Bah!
