I'd be happy if we could get rid of the lot & start again. I now look back fondly on the crazy Ecclestone/Briatore reign & the 4 year plan which says a lot<doh>

A stint in league 1 seems inevitable whether this year or next, every year we end up going backwards:emoticon-0121-angry

It’s a complete mess. I think I heard 13 managers in 14 years! There were some shocking ones in there, but they can’t all have been bad. It’s either bad chefs, or bad ingredients. And I’m beginning to roll with Col on this, that it’s very average ingredients - which means the chef has no chance.
This has been a problem growing into a disaster, I just hope that Amit is capable of bringing us back from the abyss, but it feels like clinging at straws at the moment.

5 as I see it - with a 'better' goal difference than only Rotherham - but of the teams from Brum down, we are the worst (assuming Bolton and Ipswich already gone).

I just saw the extended highlights. I'm sorry but that was absolute ****e by us.

This is the worst I've seen our defence in a number of years. They are all over the place week in week out. It looks as though there's no team work in that back four, like they're not even talking to each other.

We are a club without a strong character to give these players a serious bollocking and tell them their careers as professional footballers are going down the ****ter if they don't start communicating and playing together.

We're by no means safe. I suspect we'll scrape through but if this form had set in a few games earlier, I'd be proper ****ting myself.

It would be hard to bring any significant improvement or coherence into this squad at this point in the season. But I really can't imagine significant improvement over the summer either, I'm sorry to say. We've been stumbling on far too long without decent leadership at this club, whether in the boardroom, in management/coaching or on the pitch.

Rotherham run in might save us. No easy games and they play Brum too.

Sad time to be a QPR fan.

This is the run-in for the 'contenders'...

    Birmingham - P40-44pts
    Sheff U (h)
    Ipswich (a)
    Derby (h)
    Rotherham (a)
    Wigan (h)
    Reading (a)

    QPR - P40-44pts
    Millwall (a)
    Swansea (h)
    Blackburn (h)
    Derby (a)
    Forest (h)
    Sheff W (a)

    Wigan - P40-41pts
    Hull (a)
    Norwich (h)
    Leeds (a)
    Preston (h)
    Birmingham (a)
    Millwall (h)

    Millwall - P39-40pts
    QPR (h)
    Sheff U (a)
    Brentford (h)
    Villa (a)
    Stoke (h)
    Bristol C (h)
    Wigan (a)

    Reading - P40-40pts
    Norwich (a)
    Brentford (h)
    Bristol C (a)
    WBA (h)
    Boro (a)
    Birmingham (h)

    Rotherham - P40-39pts
    Villa (h)
    Stoke (a)
    Swansea (a)
    Birmingham (h)
    WBA (a)
    Boro (h)

Looking at that lot I think one win would be enough, Reading and Rotherham both have tough run-ins, we really must get something from our home games. It would be f*cking ironic if we went back down to the 3rd tier away at Hillsborough where we came up 15 years ago...

We look like Millwall's easiest game! I still find it hard to get my head around how good we were October to early January and how bad we are now. Also, if we didn't have a good replacement for McClaren ready immediately, why sack him now? He was there for that good period when we were 2 points off the play offs, what makes them think Eustace will do better? I was travelling Saturday so heard only a commentary and all the armageddon comments after, but from these it doesn't seem like Eustace had much new Manager impact!

Events this week proved how poorly run this club of ours is. We were going into an away game at the league leaders, the best team in the division by far and we sack the manager five days before. We install as caretaker his number two who then is facing a firing squad first up. Its madness. If you look down the player performances provided by our regular attendees the most used comments are "bereft of confidence" and "doesnt seem to know his role". We have a good enough squad not to go down but in our current situation we are nowhere near organised enough and prepared well enough to win points.
Every defeat is a head punch and results could not have been worse for us this weekend. We will lose at Millwall and then the panic really will be setting in. As I have said a few times recently, we could conceivably finish with only the points that we have on the board now and that quite probably would not be enough.

Every team and their manager will be targeting us for an easy three points. They need to man up, step up and do their job.

I do feel sorry for them too. I don't believe for one second that any of them step onto the field hoping to do badly! For whatever reasons, it's just not happening for them. None of them wants a relegation on the CV.

Millwall had a good result, beating West Brom, along with a little luck as WB miss a penalty to make it 1-1. They will be in good fettle, while we are staring at our laces totally lacking in any confidence. I can’t see us winning at Millwall, so those two home games against Swansea and Blackburn will need to bring us some valuable points.

I’m with ‘stick’, I don’t understand sacking the manager before a game against Norwich. You guarantee the caretaker or new manager an appalling start and no doubt the players will be saying he doesn’t know what he is doing (because it’s never their fault!) - just as we head into three crucial games that could possibly determine our fate.

I don’t think any of us saw this coming after the good form that took us to eighth. All we can do is support our team to the bitter end, as we always have, but it is truly bitter.

Good post. We are bereft of confidence but we are also seriously lacking in ability. This squad is and has proven to be just good enough to keep us in this division, thankfully there will be 3 or more teams worse than us like last season and the season before. This club has been run so poorly and I honestly think Tony Fernandes has been the worst thing to happen to us. The Flavio era was bumpy and bizarre, but he knew what he wanted, took no **** and produced. That's it for me, I've said this before with Holloways dismal performances and away record but I'm serious now. I wont go to another away game until I see some ambition from the club.

An unpopular view I know, but I'd prefer it if the owners took another huge gamble and tried to buy the league next season (if we stay up). Not with has-beens like before though.
If league 1 is almost inevitable, I'd rather we went for it.

The timing of the sacking does feel really ill-considered unless they gambled with new (care)taker manager boost. If they did gamble on that then it's an incredibly reckless thing to do.

Exactly this mate. People talk about throwing money at it but there is a sensible way to spend and a not so sensible way, which Tony tried and failed. This squad needs ripping up, it's no where near good enough.

    You are correct.

Once the new owners came in and punted Warnock, we have gone backwards in every department since then.
As a team, we haven't been as good.
Our managers haven't been as good.
As a club, we haven't been as good but have wasted a squiliion dollars trying to 'make' a squad gel.

The only thing that has stuck is the fans, everything else gone by the wayside.
    How far can we fall?

With the current owners and their complete lack of leadership..................... we may not have bottomed out yet.

I think I agree, it would be worth the gamble splashing the cash on a decent striker. Charlie Austin would have nailed the chances the likes of Wells have squandered.

What I would give to go back to the days of Warnock. Watching Adel rip it up. There was ambition, enjoyable football, results and hope. It put bums on seats and made you want to watch. It was exciting and that's what fans want and pay for. It cost me just shy of 90 quid with diesel and what not yesterday for me and my lad. We ****ed off at half time (rightly or wrongly) as it was nothing short of pathetic. I actually dont blame the players or the temporary manager, they are simply just not good enough. I blame the owners for taking the buzz away from being a fan. I just read that Bhatia has asked for our encouragement and support. Give us something to be encouraged about and the support will be there!!

Goal difference at the moment is academic. On current form it will swing in Rotherham's favour within the next six games.
