Did you read the article ?

He makes some good points, about how the lack of investment has seen you peak and begin to now trail off. In as much that whilst you have a decent starting XI, you have very little depth in the squad and can't really sustain any sort of real long term challenge.

We know squad depth is poor. It has been for 2/3 years at least.

The reasons we’ve underperformed very slightly in terms of the previous 2 yrs is the lack of investment over the last year and a long list of injuries.

We need to strengthen significantly in summer. If we don’t then maybe we will decline. At the moment we’re just a gnats off where we’ve been the last few years. And that’s all down to the bad run we’ve had over the last 7-8 games.

7-8 games do not constitute a terminal decline.

All teams have injuries though, so that's not really an excuse. It is though compounded by your lack of squad depth. As for investment, can you really see any significant investment in the squad when you have a £1bn stadium to pay for ? Levy hasn't ever really invested much before, even when Poch was begging him too, so I don't see why he would now, especially now given your huge debt.

The only way I can see Spurs spending significant sums on players in the market is if you sell your most valuable assets first. Players like Eriksen, Alli, Alderweireld, Kane and possibly Son would fetch good money. As I've said before, you are in a position now where we were over a decade ago when we moved to the Emirates where you have to balance the books and invest in youth and potential, all the time whilst maintaining top 4 and bringing in the CL money.

If you don't, then I think what looks like the beginning of a decline, could accelerate.

We have to find a way to strengthen the squad. I’m sure we will find a way of doing so. It’s not half a team we need, just 2-3 decent signings.

We have some very good young players, but we have to feed them in slowly. In the meantime we need a central midfielder, and possibly 2 new FB’s.

If Eriksen goes it will be for silly money or Levy won’t let him go. Toby is past his best, I don’t think there’ll be the queue for him that some expect. There’s still a chance well offer him a new contract.

Dele, Kane, and Son are going nowhere.

Interestingly your decline has come since your players have come back from injury....

Eriksen can go on a free next summer mate. Toby can go for £25m or wait and go on a free. Don't expect you sell Kane, Alli or Son this summer, but I'd be surprised if they are all still there next summer.

As for the Arsenal of a decade ago comparison, we were saying the exact same thing, that we're only 2-3 players away from challenging. And to be fair, you'd hear most of the top 6 saying the same thing.

Eriksen is a gonner...I'm over it. Toby too.

The rest are going nowhere...Piskie's 'not this season but next season I'll be surprised if...' predictions are usually way off the mark anyway

Clubs interested now may well not be interested next summer. You watch and see, if Eriksen goes it will be at top money.

    Ain’t happening.

Maybe if had 3 years left on his contract, but not when he can sign a PCA 6 months after the next window and go on a free.

You watch and see. Levy will demand top money, if he doesn’t get it, Eriksen will go nowhere.

As I’ve already pointed out, 12 months is a long time in football. Interested clubs will either have to pay up or look elsewhere.

Levy can kick & scream and demand whatever he wants, don't mean he's getting it.

If Eriksen wants a move and Levy plays hard ball, he can just wait 6 months and sign a pre-contract and then go on a free.

Where has Eriksen said he wants to move. Oh, that’s right, he hasn’t.

Even 6 months can change everything. And sign or no sign they still don’t get the player for 12 months. If you’re Real or Barca you want now, not next year.

Levy is the past master at screwing top prices out of keen buyers. Eriksen would be no different.
