Coincidence? - That Ledley plays and voila! A clean sheet after conceding 8 goals in two games, he didn't look his normal self in the first half, but I felt the second he showed just why he's so highly regarded at Spurs. I can only hope that the fail's story was tripe as 10/15/20 games with Ledley, is far better than 0 games without and I hope he gets a new contract sooner rather than later.

Adebayor - Was very impressed with him today, I don't think you truly appreciate a player until they play for your club, never realised how good his close control was and general all round play, barring the fact that's his first 90 minutes of the season, I'm looking forward to see him at full match fitness.

Modric - Looks like at least for now he's going to get his head down and work for the team, not his greatest of games but showed glimpses as to why the top teams are sniffing around.

Overall a great result for us today, was definitely what we needed, lets hope we can keep the momentum up.

Don't you think Parker is worth a mention considering his pass for Adebayor's first goal? He worked hard in midfield to break up opposition play. Fit in well. Made a few wayward overpasses probably due to nerves but overall a good debut in the middle of the park.

I hope that Livermore takes a good look at Parker, as he seems to have all the attributes to emulate him.

Parker had a decent game, yes it was a good assist but he gave away a few passes and lost posession a couple of times.

  5. Regarding Adebayor, I always rated him when he was at Arsenal, and I could never understand why the Gooners got on his back and slated him. I know that his temperament has been questioned, and there will be many Gooners waiting for him to go missing in games, but I think that it's all down to how he's managed; and I strongly believe that Harry will get more out of him that either Wenger or Mancini ever could.

I really do think he will be up there pushing for the Golden Boot, this season.

As I've said in the past, Redknapp seems to like a temperamental striker, for some reason.
Di Canio, Yakubu, Kanu and I guess you could even put van der Vaart in there, sort of.

Because he was a joke in his last season. Wanted the same wages as Henry after one good season. His performances and effort was awful in that season and he ended his career at Arsenal with his performances in the two games against United in the CL. As for the Goldent boot, that seems like a race between United and City players.

  8. At United and City, I think the goals will be evenly spread among the squads. They each have awesome talent right across the park.

The score so much that will not really matter. The service these forwards get is just unreal.

  10. Indeed. When you look at the strength in depth that City has, it is truly awesome.

Adebayor was a great player for Arsenal, even when he was one foot out of the door and our fans were slating him, I still wanted him to stay.
Yes he's arrogant, yes he's temperamental and yes he sometimes goes missing. When things aren't going his way, he can be a nightmare.
But when he's playing well and scoring goals (as he did today) he is a world class player.
If he has a good season for Spurs...................expect him to be wanting a move to a 'bigger' club.

Rooney is over-rated, started well but will go missing at some point throughout the season as he usually does.

I still think he'll do well to be Man Utd top scorer let alone PL top scorer.

He's got two hat-tricks in his last two league games.
I don't think you can call him overrated on that basis.
    Ugly, yes.

Well people are already saying he has the Golden boot wrapped up and is unstoppable etc.

Good player and the best English player at the moment but still over-rated and there are plenty of other strikers i rate higher than him.

There are not many forwards that are as complete as Rooney.

We will see. Obviously if he keeps up this form then he will be score even more than CR7 did for United but I can't see it carrying on.

Clearly he's an ugly, diving, cheating, camera swearing, elbow swinging, Granny shagging, Shrek lookalike.
But he's still a top player.
