That's the best i've ever seen him play. The lad was exceptional. £2m very well spent!!!! Our defence is looking other worldly this season, 2 goals conceded in 8 in all competitions I make that. Must try harder lads :emoticon-0105-wink:

Haven't seen the game yet Sgt, but by all accounts we defended brilliantl. And I heard Ryan was superb. How can that idiot Capello overlook him.... I know, he doesn't play for a top 4 club...... wait a minute, we are currently a top 4 club!!

Congratulations on today lads. You did what you do best and we knew what you were capable of. Some of the best defending I've seen, even when Saurez turned his man he was never able to embarrass him and you dealt with every ball we threw at you. I was expecting a point out of todays game but we just couldn't finish. Well done. <ok>

Cheers mate. For what it's worth I thought Suarez, despite being marshalled well by Ryan all game, had a really good game and was you're most dangerous player. Liverpool look a much better team this season, top 4 for you I reckon this season.

Thanks Lucas, I wasn't there today but looking at the BBC website stats you had the majority of possesion and corners, had just one shot on target but scored. Our defence this term has been magnificent and we remain undefeated in all comps so far. Your performance vs Bolton was excellent - top 4 a possibility for you.

It hasn't knocked my confidence. I always laugh at the Sunderland/Arsenal/West Ham fans when they get all bitter about losing at the Brittania, I don't get it. Teams know what they are going to get when playing you guys and hats off to you for frustrating so well. Hope you get far in the EL this season too. <ok>

Our defence was superb. Upson was very solid again and to think Woody wasn't even playing today and look how well he's done so far. Competition for places is just fantastic right now, even in the midfield. Glenn, Rory, Palacios, Wilson (when Higgy's fit) and of course my true love (a purely manly, butch love of course ;)) Deano.

I think this season the Brit will be an even tougher place to come with how good our defence and once Matty and Jermaine start laying them on for Crouchy and co we will look even more formidable at home. If we can find a way of getting more results away from home then we could definitely finish in the top 10.

I imagine that the Liverpool fans may think that King Kenny was not off his rocker to offer £10m for Shawcross, unlike Mickey Quinn who would shed 30 stone at the thought of a pub team player, gracing Anfield.

I think Kenny will definitely be putting in another offer for Ryan but I don't think we'll sell unless it's a stupid offer like £30m which won't happen.

I don't know, unless we sold Skrtel or Carra retired soon then I can see it happening. But he is a cracking defender.

Hopefully only another year, I really want him to get his coaching badges done asap so he can carry on from Kenny. If you saw him making those changes before he went off today, he's a manager in the making already!

Shawcross did very well today, a man of the match performance. I can see Carragher in him (in his prime) personally.

Cahill is a great defender, no doubt about that. But how many goals have Bolton now conceded? And the guy is starting for England ahead of Shawcross!

Upson was very solid. And to think we've still got Woody to come back as well. Not for Europe though of course.
