Sorry saintdon, Im fed up of saints fans on Guly! next time you are at a saints game just watch guly and his work effort, brilliant in first goal nice flick for the second one too. he was Outstanding today and alot of the time was back before fox on the counter. anyone else think that was one of the worse games they have seen lallana play in? (by his standards ofc). close game draw probably fair result.

Have no idea what Davis was doing towards the end, Derbyshire definately dived though, that was obvious. To be fair Kelvin did make one world class save.

Just back and very relieved that we nicked it. I was impressed with Forest and they will surely feel a bit unlucky to come away with nothing. From my seat in the Chapel end of the Kingsland the goalmouth scrambles were terrifying and frequent. Guly showed some real skill particularly in the first half. I think I enjoyed this game more than some of the thumping which we have handed out last season- as someone said, end to end stuff.

Kelv's mix up with Derbyshire was horrifying. Think a draw would have been fair today.

There will be games that we should win and don't so I'm not going to cry about Forest deserving something.

Yep a draw would have been fair, but a draw would have been fair at Leicester, so who cares! :)

Exactly. I think 9/10 times we'd have beaten Leicester but came away with nothing. Swings and roundabouts. I actually think we just about deserved the win overall today anyway. COYR!

Don't get me wrong, I like Guly, some of his play is a class above the rest, but he tends to sit back and admire what he has done instead of pushing on and it is not his style to be constantly backing up his full back, the difference when De Ridder came on was obvious, Corks game improved as he had someone to communicate with, and at the end he was one of the ones running rings around Forest denying them possession, it was a different ball game.

Blimey; we were brilliant for 30 minutes, but then stopped doing what we have been doing all year in midfield; working and chasing. We let them back in it and then gave them momentum in second half. We picked up again for last 15 minutes.

Forest looked poor early on, but then in the end didn't deserve to lose, but that's how it goes and I'll take the win.

For me, the change of performance was partly down to McLaren. He was screaming at his strikers to stop our CBs coming out with the ball. When they did that in the second half by pushing right on to Jose and Jos, Kelvin couldnt roll it to them, so we kept knocking it long and forest won back possession.

Overall, it wasn't a bad performance. Lallana was a little off colour second half, and we really missed Jack Cork in the middle.

    Good test and great win.

What a football match, and great credit to Forest for making it so. From a neutral perspective, that was one of the best matches that I've seen at St Marys in years. Could have easily finished 5-5 on another day.

Putting my Saints hat back on though, to beat a side who have been there or thereabouts in the promotion race in the last couple of seasons is an excellent achievement. As of course is 5 wins out of 6.

Well done Ricky. Thought Guly was very unlucky to be subbed. Lallana certainly seems to have an extra yard of pace this season.
