Thought taa started very well, looked really in the mood, after the first goal went in looked like he just lost interest. Robinson puts in the same performance game in game out, not the greatest with the ball at his feet but good enough, and has the engine to do what we want.
Bascially exactly what I thought Taa looked great with some absolutely superb passes and then just swithced off and wasn't bothered, very lax chasing down, extremely sloppy. By contrast robertson got 2 or 3 absolute storming positions and wasted them all cos as you say he's just not very good on the ball but he worked like a dog up and down. the first time he got the byeline he passed too early. the second time he went in too close His shot/cross was also just the right height for keeper. He works so hard though...
I cannot have a go at Salah. Just because he hasnt scored doesnt mean he is not putting a shift in. He is getting assists and we are still winning. He has been unlucky at times but I fully back him to get back to goalscoring soon. He doesnt play for Egypt over the break so he can get some rest and end his drought against spuds
Agree. He’s still heavily involved in our build up play. He’s also attracting 2-3 defenders each time he has the ball, and I believe Mane is benefitting from the free space. Also, we got caught on the counter Nd he sprinted all the way back to help defend.
Is just everyone trying to hard to get the ball to him and he is trying too hard to score. Players need to get over it and focus on the game in front of them
Robinson does the same every match, he's not s world beater going forward but his pace and stamina are perfect for us. Taa on the other hand could be one of the best, I do worry with some of these players and you do see it all to often, they think they've made it, are fantastic and forget the reason they got there is by putting the ****ing effort in.
Thing is, we used to make these sort of mistakes at least once or twice in every game. We’ve since eradicated it from our game.
I think he thinks that each game and that's become the problem, tbh. I think he needs to let go of it. He's trying too hard to score himself when all that matters is that the team score. I'm not turning against him at all, but he has a monkey on his back, it seems, and I believe the best way to get rid of it is to see himself as much creator as finisher. He might then play with a bit more freedom and then the goals may return naturally. He should get as much satisfaction from the pass that set up Mané's second against Bayern as he would from scoring it himself.
Yeah fair play to him. He seems like a fan of the club even though didn’t set the world alight here. Won over many with the picture of Howard Webb I feel
