If you want to win this thing, you've got to beat top teams at some stage

It'd be nice to play somewhere a little less......grim? <laugh>

The suave elegance of Turin?

The beauty of Catalan Barcelona?

The excitement and open mindedness of Amsterdam?

....or Manchester, the world's primary rain magnet?

Oh well, it was nice while it lasted.

On a more serious note I expect us to be beaten comfortably. Not humiliated, just comprehensively beaten by a side vastly superior to us. Perhaps it will serve to highlight just how much investment our squad actually needs.

There's a big Asda opposite City's ground.
With a café <ok>

Impressive. It was all Kwik Save and Lo Cost back in the day.

About '89, me and Mrs B were driving near to Maine Road, going to the University halls of residence at Owens Park , a little ****, who couldn't have been in senior school, took both headlights out with a catapult.....Are his great grandkids around?

Running the country now

City must be as over joyed at getting us as the others are gutted at not.

Comfortable 3 nil away win and a humiliating 5 nil home win for them with Walker scring in both and getting a further 6 assists.

On a more serious note I expect us to be beaten comfortably. Not humiliated, just comprehensively beaten by a side assembled at a ridiculous cost, contrary to the laws of the game and backed up by repeatedly lying, bribing and threatening the authorities that questioned them.

Perhaps it will serve to highlight just how much we need to be owned by a criminal despotic leader.

Fixed it for ya. :emoticon-0148-yes:

City. <doh> Didn't want an English side and they were the last English team that I wanted.

Assuming that the favourites win their ties, then we'll have had to play Barca, Inter, PSV, City, Juventus and Barca again to win it! <laugh>

EL draws ...

QF :

Napoli v Arsenal
Villarreal v Valencia
Slavia Prague v Chelsea
Benfica v Eintracht Frankfurt

Nemesis ensuring we do not have to play more UEFA
games than the Goons during the PL run-in.

Clean sheet at home has to be the aim..we are not going to pummel them at any stage to gain a decent lead. Clean sheet at home and double your money away.

Worst possible draw, IMO.

I was hoping we wouldn’t get juventus, as we played them last season. And same for Barca, as we had them in our group.
But to get arguably the best team left in it?! Cheers for that.

Just for once I was hoping we’d get an Ajax or a Porto. I know there’s no easy games in the CL, especially at this stage, but it would have just been nice to play someone a bit different who also isn’t in our domestic league.

The draw has turned out very much like “the 4 the world would rather see in the semi finals, vs the rest”.

Good boy, the Maestro is back. A few of us tried to emulate you, with limited success, but eventually both the mousers and goons got through. Clearly our squad doesn't have enough strength in depth.
