Oh no you've gone all lefty ***** on us.

I say things as i see them, not the pact mentality led by the media's choice of provocative words when it suits them. If that makes me a leftie *****, then i'm happy to take the title, if choosing to have an opinion on how things are reported places me in that box of yours.

I didn't say 'news channels' Saf - I clearly said SKY <ok>
Ok mate. I was watching Sky news when I wrote this thread and I said it was terrorist because that's what the sky reporter said.

Unbelievable.

Although some people are clearly looking for an agenda here and I've no ****ing idea why. There's no agenda. Everybody is saying the shooters are ****s are the sky reporter said it was terrorism when I created this thread.

Can't we just leave it at that?

No, I will not leave it there. I will give by opinion how i feel, I disagree with yours, hope that helps <ok>

Can I just say, at what point did we start referring to it as "terror"? Growing up whether it was Northern Ireland or some lunatics hijacking a plane, it was always "terrorism".

Using "terror" is a relatively new term iirc, probably post 911. Just doesn't sit well in a sentence describing an event. I'm going to petition to go back to terrorism (not literally!)

It said ‘terror attack’ literally as it was breaking online.

I’m not watching the tv, and I doubt it’s broadcasting to a much wider audience either.

My comments were aimed at SKY headlines on TV.

Fair enough. I'll let people argue about who the biggest victims are when a terrorist attack happens. Even though 49 innocent people have just been gunned down.

What a **** of a statement. Talk about whataboutery. There is no 'however' or justification for actions like that.

Don’t look at the lbc’s comments page no end of whataboutary, very little condemnation for the perpetrators or sorrow felt for the victims. It’s shameful people have such little empathy.

I think the topic of islamophobia being normalised and even used for political gain is a relevant one to discuss.

I’m thankful the Muslim posters on the forum haven’t felt the need to demand openly islamophobic posters condemn the attack or are deemed automatically to be condoning it. I’ve no doubt we can all discuss this sensitive incident politely.

They had no need to 'demand' it, most if not all condemned it out of hand with no prompting required. Stop fishing. :emoticon-0114-dull:

It's funny if it wasn't so tragic - Islamophobia gets normalised for political gain and nutters take it to the nth degree causing death and destruction. Islamic extremism gets normalised for political gain and nutters take it to nth degree causing death and destruction.

Hmmm... and neither can see the stoopidity of their own position. Funny old world.
