Ajax look like they're going all-out for the CL knowing the team will get dismantled in the summer, sort of like Monaco a couple of seasons back (in both senses...) so they worry me - not least because, if they did beat us, the Lunatic Fringe would be ****ing insufferable even by their usual standards
No need to speculate. We know what will happen. City and Barca will get easy ties ( Porto and Ajax ). We will probably get an English tie-probably Liverpool. Juventus vs Utd for the Ronaldo return. EDIT: And the draw for semi final will keep City and Barca apart because that is the planned final
Anyone can beat anyone at this stage, as long as you turn up. Remember, there is no Mike Dean or Michael Oliver to play 12th man. You know who you are, you know who you are, Mike Dean, you know who you are.....
Apparently the draw has been leaked and we got Utd. City got Barca and Liverpool got Ajax. That would be some draw.
That would be the offside rule i'd guess, that doesn't normally apply to them in their domestic leagues....
I heard that they have invited Steve Smith and David Warner to make the draw to ensure that there is no ball tampering.
The intention: Bayern fans hold up white card to spell "Pack ma's", or "Let's do it" The reality: Bayern fans hold up white cards to spell "Fick ma's", or "Let's **** 'em" please log in to view this image
One would hope this is bullshit. But I’ve lost all faith in the honesty of cup draws after Craig Bellamy told everyone who was playing who 24 hours before the Carabao Cup semi final draw!
I saw this earlier on Twitter. From a purely financial perspective (i.e. UEFA's default one) it makes a lot of sense to keep the Manc teams and Pool apart and hope that either combination of City/Utd or Utd/Liverpool go through to set up a grandstand semi final. I am expecting us to get Barca or City so I bloody hope this is true!
They always do a dry run the day before the draw to make sure that everything's working properly and they know the routine. It's probably the result of this.
Well there is certainly precedent for the actual draw being a carbon copy of the rehearsal, despite the odds being ridiculous. Happened in the Round of 16 draw 2012/13, although in UEFA's defense any rigging that year was probably to protect the tournament from death by boredom after Chelsea were crowned (Route)masters of Europe the previous season.
Just did 'spin the wheel' on the Spurs official twitter site, and we got Citeh. Had a second and third go, Ajax/Juve
So if I am anti PL, my rigging needs two all PL QFs, and the winners of those ties to not be drawn against each other in the SFs.
