I’m processing it, and discovering that I have zero insight into what motivates people, how they end up so corrupted and depraved that **** like this occurs. Outrage won’t stop anything, although it might make you feel a bit better having virtue signalled.

Thing is G, and it’s only my opinion, when you are young it’s easy to get indoctrinated (I speak from personal experience).......luckily some are able to see the error of their ways and to turn away from **** like that.....while others carry on and can take it to the extreme.....
Shame we all can’t just get along :(

That was uncalled for. I had expected this to have its own thread a la Charlie Hebdo, but no one seemed to have reacted at all. Perhaps everyone is just waking up, or maybe we're all becoming immune to this kind of **** - or maybe it's just Muslims.

I'm guessing the first one. I only come on mainly at work once i get the daily stuff finished.

With respect to its own thread, charlie hebdo was one of the earlier massacres? Im guessing theres been a separate thread for any uk based one but not necessarily any for the abroad based ones?

Is it always the same person started separate threads? You are welcome to do one strolls

I honestly think that sadly we are becoming immune to the horror of it all......

Yep. People who do this ****, whether they are political fanatics or religious fundamentalists, must be terribly easy to influence and have zero self esteem, they must hate their own lives and have a pathetic need to blame others for that and inflict misery on them. Perhaps they all have personality disorders.

Sorry Strolls, I saw your post and formed the impression that you were looking for a fight with other posters. Apologies if my impression was false. Start your own thread on this slaughter if you think it’s important. And expressing outrage on a message board is virtue signalling, I’ve done it myself, it doesn’t change anything, but it enables us to vent. It’s a good thing, though I know ‘virtue signalling’ is used as an insult, perhaps I should have dreamt up another phrase. Frankly I’m not really outraged, of course I wasn’t expecting this, especially in a place like Christchurch, but it makes me deflated, depressed and just tired of it all rather than angry. Perhaps we are getting immune to it. Or perhaps I’m getting immune to it. Or just old.

I have just seen a news bulletin that shows the bloke live streaming before and after the shootings. He is playing music in his car and casually whistling like he is going to the shop. I don't know what is worse, the casual way he carried out this attack or that he could live stream it? We are living in a different World. Like you said 'immune' and 'old'.

I just think that when you are young it’s about searching for a belonging and dare I say it, someone to blame for all the wrongs in the world...be it the blacks, the Muslims or the Kaffir.
And all the while there are people
who are willing to exploit these young minds and get them to act as ‘foot soldiers’ in their warped battle and carry out these kind of acts.
I spoke about this many times to our beloved Brixton, who I loved dearly, and he totally understood.
I miss the old fella :(

Why the need to be continually on the wind up?
As Stan says, you were picking a fight.

I can't imagine anyone on here condones this, or any other terror attack.

The Christchurch attack is a terrible, shocking waste of life.

I wasn't picking a fight at all, or even less suggesting that anyone condones the atrocity - that's a ridiculous inferral. I was just surprised at the lack of comment on here about the attack.
