When Kane was injured Son shone didn't he? West Ham, Fulham and a crap Man Utd team under Maureen? Up your standards Dier. We are talking about Kane's effect on the team since his comeback.

    No checkmate.

What will you all say about Poch if we fail top four?

That crap Utd won a treble in Jose's first season. We still went to Man Utd and dicked them 3-0, under-performing or not, that's still a great result against a top side.

Kane shone in that Utd game with a goal and assist. He also scored in the Fulham game before. So he "shone" when Son was away on duty.

<laugh> This discussion is unbelievable. Would Guardiola, Conte or Mourinho be able to achieve what Pochettino has done at Spurs on the budget he's had?

Even I as the enemy can appreciate a top class manager when I see one!

That he needs a kick up the arse and a wake up call that this squad isn't as good as what he tried saying it was earlier in the season. It also may give the board a kick up the arse in that we can't improve without strengthening the side.

If Poch's so good why are we known as perennial bottlers and yes, I think so.

You said "Anyone up for this?"

I've no problem with you calling for Kane to be dropped or even sold, nor do i have a problem with you calling for Poch to be sacked. Those are a matter of opinion and you are entitled to yours as much as the next bloke, irrespective of how unpopular those opinions may be.

But asking other spurs fans if they would be 'up' for Mourinho as manager shows that you either don't follow football, don't support Spurs, or both.

We wouldn't even be "bottlers" without Poch. We'd be still stuck moaning at the fact Bale left and we had Roberto Soldado scoring 5 goals a season whilst we're in 6th/7th/8th (or worse) place and just dreaming of getting to semi finals or ever playing in the Champions League again.

As annoying as the bottling tag has been - and it's a fair statement - it's still better than just being a dog **** side with nothing to actually bottle.

As for the other managers being mentioned...

Benitez has done an incredible job at Newcastle, and he's a very successful manager. But his style of play is very conservative, he makes bizarre substitutions (which Geordies also complain about despite how much they love him) and, let's be honest, his stock has fallen since his horror show at Inter Milan. He salvaged it a bit when he was interim Chelsea boss and at Napoli, but I am sure his scars from the time at Madrid won't be forgotten. He's not exactly charismatic, either.

As already mentioned, Conte spent a fortune in his first season to help him win the league. Funnily enough, when Chelsea's board decided not to support him in the transfer market for the players he wanted, he threw a strop, moaned about it incessantly to the media and acted like a martyr, which gradually made Chelsea fans lose faith in him, as well as the Chelsea board. He is also a massive hothead who can't take it when he doesn't get his own way. Let's say for argument's sake Poch goes and Levy approaches Conte. Why would he join when the issues surrounding the transfer budget he had at Chelsea will be exacerbated further at Spurs?

I don't know if Poch was given a reasonable transfer budget or not last Summer, but the one thing Poch didn't do was have a massive tantrum. He just got on with the job in spite of these restrictions.

You're third in the league, reached the semi-finals of a domestic cup competition and you're currently into the quarter-finals of the Champions League with NO proper investment in the past year. What exactly are you expecting him to do?

If you need a Gooner to explain this to you, DGC, then I don't really know if you can be reasoned with.

"Anyone up for this" DOES NOT state I want him at Spurs does it? Stop clutching at straws. Don't follow Spurs? I'll repeat, one of us since the double and the other since the Archibald/Crooks pairing. First match together 1-0 v Forest, Crooks scored it. OK C. Kane.

All of them would have won the quadruple, setting
pts / wins / GF / GA / scorer diversity records in each
    competition.

That you are questioning this demonstrates your lack of
understanding of the basics of football.

Third in the league and 10 points clear but now not and Poch isn't a hothead? Oh perhaps you didn't hear of his 2 touchline ban and £10,000 fine then Brunel.

Or it means that he's worked to the best of his ability, with a limited squad, to even have you in the position you're in? It's the business end of the season and I would guess that your lack of depth in certain areas is now starting to show.

The touchline ban and fine is an isolated case. It was out of character for him to do that. The same cannot be said for Mourinho or Conte.

Sadly some of my fellow Spurs supporters regard finishing above you as a major success, I wish they'd up their standards.

Finishing in the top 3 of the English top league for at least 3

You can think what you like, but if you get your wish and he leaves, there will be a queue of big clubs wanting him. Trust me on that.

<laugh> You talk of upping standards and then say you want the best striker in world football sold... What standard is better than Kane?!

Finishing above Arsenal is never seen as a success. It's seen as a bragging right. Something they held for many years. Neither team nor it's fans consider it a success. It's just a reason to mug one another off over the summer.

I wanted Klopp at Spurs and I was mocked and now look where Liverpool are. Now I'd like Conte and I'm mocked. If Poch goes what does it matter to us where he ends up? Doesn't mean to say he'd be successful. He'd fail at Madrid and I don't think he's right for Utd either.
